Katherine Ryan showed off the results of her recent facelift as she and her husband, Bobby Kootstra, left an Agent Provocateur event on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old comedian, who had a £16,000 procedure two months ago, wore revealing lingerie to the event.
She wore a plunging lace bodysuit which featured a sheer polka dot overlay and a tiny skirt.
Katherine completed her look with sheer stockings and added height with peep-toe heels.
The TV star put on a leather coat to stay dry while walking home in the rain.
Katherine and Bobby had dinner at Quo Vadis in Soho with Emily Atack, and the three of them took a selfie together.
As a style expert, I’m really excited about the new campaign from this lingerie brand! This month, they launched their SS26 collection featuring Emily, and let me tell you, the photos are stunning. The shoot has a bit of an edgy vibe, showcasing Emily in some beautifully designed, bondage-inspired pieces. It’s a bold and confident direction for the brand, and I think it’s going to be a huge hit!
Katherine shared that she had a facelift to feel like herself again after having six pregnancies in the past five years.
The comedian revealed she had an expensive and complex medical procedure around eight weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, Holland, last October.
She’d mentioned possibly getting cosmetic procedures before, but she hadn’t shared any specifics until today.
She revealed on her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, that she had a facelift. This included some fat transfer to her cheekbones and a minor eyelid surgery, also known as a blepharoplasty.
A blepharoplasty involves removing a small amount of skin from the eyelids, and often, fat is added back in to prevent a hollowed look. In my case, I had this done on my upper eyelids, and I also had a facelift.
Katherine explained the surgery felt like a significant emotional step forward, as well as a physical one. She and her husband, Bobby Koostra, had experienced six pregnancies in five years, including three miscarriages, and now have three children.
I felt like I had to make a change, a real one. It wasn’t just about doing something different; it was about getting back to who I was, regaining control of my life, and honestly, feeling like myself again – like the person I was back in 2019. It felt like I’d lost a part of myself and I needed to fight to get it back.
Katherine clarified, ‘I’m not being unrealistic. I’m not trying to recapture my look from years ago. I simply want to feel and look like I did before the pandemic and after having six pregnancies in just five years.’
She underwent a face lift with Dr. Nick Rhodes at the Coppergate Clinic in York, a procedure that typically costs over £16,000.
Katherine explained that he’s a highly respected plastic surgeon, and actually trained a lot of the more expensive surgeons in London.
I’ve seen plenty of examples of his results, both in pictures and with patients I’ve met in person. Knowing people who have actually been treated by him is really important when deciding on a surgeon.
As Dr. Steven Levine, who’s worked with Kris Jenner, told me, it’s really important that you and your surgeon agree on what a good result looks like. My friends have had work done by Dr. Nick Rhodes, and I think they all look fantastic.
Canadian actress and mother of five – Holland, Fred, Fenna, and a teenage daughter Violet – reported feeling no pain after undergoing surgery. She described her pain level as zero out of ten.
She explained that the surprising thing was how quickly you recover. She was bruised and swollen, and still a little bit now, but she was able to go back to her normal routine almost immediately.
They gave me paracetamol to take home. I probably could have gotten something stronger if I’d asked, but I didn’t need it. I just took ibuprofen and paracetamol for about three days.
She explained that she quickly recovered and was able to fully enjoy the Christmas season, attending parties, taking her children to Lapland, going caroling, and even caring for a newborn baby – all just weeks after her surgery.
She explained that for her marriage to work, she and her husband, Bobby, both need to be equally involved in raising their children, and she believes they should share parenting responsibilities equally.
Despite having children, Bobby has maintained his good looks, while my appearance has fluctuated quite a bit over the years – I’ve gained and lost weight repeatedly.
The actress was grateful that Dr. Rhodes advised her against getting a lip lift, explaining it wouldn’t complement her features. She credited his advice, along with her talented surgeon, for the natural-looking results of her facelift. ‘Thanks to following his guidance and having a skilled surgeon, it doesn’t look overdone,’ she explained.
‘You get to a point where if you really want to pull it back, you just need a facelift,’ she said.
Katherine challenged the common belief that facelifts are just for older women or that they always look artificial, and she fondly remembered Joan Rivers while doing so. She aimed to change how people think about this procedure.
Many people think facelifts always look unnatural – either obviously done, or like something went wrong. But really, it’s an option for anyone bothered by sagging skin who wants to address it with surgery.
She dismissed the idea that she should have waited longer to have the procedure, explaining that the name ‘facelift’ clearly indicates what the surgery addresses – lifting the face. If she wanted that, it was the right choice for her.
The comedian has always been honest about having cosmetic procedures, like a breast augmentation when she was in her twenties and regular Botox treatments with Dr. Nina Bal. She hinted in December that she’d had something done, but didn’t say exactly what it was until now.
