Adin Ross is permanently banned from Twitch, a decision that came just one day after he began streaming exclusively on Kick.
Just wanted to let you all know I originally wrote this back in 2023. Since then, a lot’s happened! I’ve updated it with the news about Ross finally getting unbanned and what he’s been up to more recently, as of 2026. So, this is the most current version!
Adin Ross announced he’s been permanently banned from Twitch, just one day after moving his streams to Kick. While he believes there’s a specific reason for the ban, his lawyers have told him not to share details publicly. Ross has faced several controversies recently, which may have contributed to the decision. You can find reactions from other streamers to this surprising news elsewhere.
Adin Ross was a popular streamer on Twitch, boasting over 7.2 million followers. He recently moved to Kick, a new live-streaming platform supported by fellow streamer Trainwreck.
Adin started livestreaming on Kick recently, about two weeks ago, but doesn’t stream there exclusively. During that time, he’s broadcast content that could get him into legal trouble. This includes streaming the Super Bowl – which is protected by copyright – to over 100,000 viewers, and also showing pornographic material to his audience.
Adin Ross addresses the Twitch ban
The streamer, age 22, announced today, February 26th, that Twitch has permanently banned his account. This is his eighth ban, and he expects it to be the last. The ban is unexpected, especially since he hasn’t been streaming much lately – only once in the past week, for about an hour.
Adin Ross went live on Kick to address the indefinite ban.
It’s alright, I’ve already secured myself with Kick. I’m relieved, honestly. I’d been telling people Kick was targeting me, and it seems like they were after me, Kai Cenat, and pretty much every other streamer out there – all of them.
He claimed Twitch wouldn’t have banned him if he had presented with a different appearance – specifically, if he’d had blue hair, makeup, and long fingernails.
I don’t want to completely criticize Twitch, but I have to ask this: if I had blue hair and was wearing makeup, would they have banned me? I doubt it. I was permanently banned for absolutely no reason.
Adin Ross pointed out that Twitch banned the most popular Jewish streamer on a day he referred to as ‘Hate Jew Day,’ highlighting the unfortunate timing of the ban across the entire year.
Adin Ross later explained that his ban was due to a specific issue, but he’s not allowed to share the details publicly on the advice of his lawyers. He did mention the incident happened either during a live stream or in a recorded video.
Kai Cenat, xQc, and more streamers react
Several Twitch streamers have responded to the recent changes made by the platform. Kai Cenat, who recently reached over 200,000 subscribers, expressed his disappointment, saying the situation is unfavorable and he’s concerned about what it means for Adin Ross.
This is really frustrating. He’s completely unable to stream on Twitch, and if Kick doesn’t succeed, what are his options? If Kick fails, what’s his plan for making money?
While streaming a chess game, xQc was stunned to hear some news, reacting with a disbelieving “Adin is what?”
Kick responded to the controversy, criticizing Twitch’s rules. They highlighted their own advantages: they don’t take half of a streamer’s earnings, and streamers aren’t punished for moving to their platform. This suggests Adin Ross may have been banned from Twitch because he officially joined Kick.
So, I was listening to Asmongold talk about Adin Ross getting banned on Twitch, and honestly, I was pretty surprised too. He seemed to be racking his brain trying to figure out why Twitch would hit him with a ban like that. But then Asmongold also admitted, pretty bluntly, that Adin’s always been a bit of a troublemaker for the platform. It’s like, yeah, no kidding, right?
MoistCr1TiKaL, a popular YouTuber and co-owner of Moist Esports, believes Adin Ross likely signed with Kick before being banned. He thinks the ban will give Kick more leverage to negotiate a cheaper contract with Ross.
I really hope Adin has already finalized his deal with Kick. If not, Kick will definitely try to significantly lower the offer. They initially offered him a large sum of money – it wasn’t $150 million, but it was substantial – with the understanding that he would be able to bring his existing Twitch audience with him. Getting him off Twitch was crucial because that’s where most of his viewers are. However, if he loses his Twitch presence, Kick might reconsider the offer, as he’ll have fewer alternatives.
Adin Ross unbanned from Twitch, but remains on Kick
Although Twitch initially announced a lifetime ban in 2023, it didn’t last. On March 29, 2025, the platform reversed its decision, and Ross was able to stream on Twitch again.
He hasn’t streamed much on Twitch lately, but remains a major figure on Kick, where he’s focused his efforts since signing a deal with the platform in 2023. His streams primarily feature online betting, and he’s sponsored by the online casino, Stake.
Adin Ross sometimes has prominent guests on his streams, often figures from the world of politics. Recent examples include former US President Donald Trump, who appeared in 2024 during his campaign, controversial political commentator Nick Fuentes, and the rapper Drake.
Ross chose to stream on Kick instead of Twitch, likely because Twitch has much stricter rules about what kind of content streamers can show. Even though esports betting and online casinos are becoming more popular in gaming, Twitch still heavily restricts them on its platform.
Things weren’t always smooth sailing for Ross and Kick. They had a falling out in late 2025 when Ross publicly disagreed with Kick’s new partner program and briefly streamed on Twitch instead. However, Ross has since returned to Kick and now streams there almost daily.
Ross, along with Stake and Drake, is facing multiple class-action lawsuits. A recent case filed in Virginia accuses them of several wrongdoings, including running illegal operations, hiding money transfers, and offering unlawful gambling with deceptive promotions.
It’s claimed that some of the funds were spent creating fake streams – also known as “botting” – for Drake’s songs. This was done to make his music appear more popular than it was and to undermine his rivals.
Even with recent controversies, Adin Ross remains popular online. He has a large following on social media, with 7 million followers on Twitch and nearly 2 million on Kick.
