Game Together, Stay Together: Logitech G Reveals Gaming Couples Enjoy Higher Relationship Satisfaction

Valentine’s Day is almost here, and many couples are making plans for a romantic celebration. Some might choose classic dates like candlelit dinners or couples massages, while others are opting for something a little different… like playing video games together!

Forget traditional gifts like chocolates and flowers – a new study shows that playing video games together is actually the best way to strengthen a romantic relationship. Logitech G partnered with research firm Antenna Insights to discover this, and the results are in: gaming together can lead to a more fulfilling connection.

A Logitech G survey of over 1,500 Australians between 18 and 45 revealed that couples who play video games together at least once a week report significantly higher relationship satisfaction – a 47.3% increase – compared to couples who rarely or never game together (24.0%).

So, I was reading up on this, and it turns out a lot of couples game together! About 44% of people surveyed said they play with their partner sometimes or pretty often. A smaller chunk, around 22%, only play together rarely, and about a third (34%) never game with their significant other. It’s cool to see so many couples sharing that hobby!

Couples who play video games together on a regular basis – at least once a week – spend almost 17 hours each week enjoying quality time together. This is about 3.8 hours more than couples who only game occasionally, or less than once a week.

Put simply, couples who game together stay together.

New research from Logitech G suggests that gaming together can actually help couples strengthen their bond this Valentine’s Day. According to Daniel Hall, a Logitech G ANZ manager, gaming isn’t just a solitary activity – it’s a great way for partners to spend quality time together, communicate better, and work as a team.

This research comes as Logitech G releases its new Astro A20 X Gaming Headset. This headset features PLAYSYNC technology, allowing gamers to seamlessly switch between consoles with just one button.

Most couples who game together do it because it’s a fun, collaborative activity (52%), helps them unwind (47%), and strengthens their connection (46%).
