Fans are getting a closer look at Prime Video’s upcoming superhero series, starring Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir. New posters have been released, and we now know when the first teaser trailer will debut. The show promises a dark and stylish reimagining of the Spider-Man story, set in a classic noir world.
Spider-Noir posters reveal when first trailer is coming
Sony has revealed new posters for the character Spider-Noir and announced that the first trailer will be released tomorrow. They shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), teasing, “Let’s start from the beginning.” The trailer image features a shadowy figure, dressed in a coat and hat, walking down a brightly lit street, and confirms Nicolas Cage will star as Spider-Noir.
The show’s posters come in both color and black and white, mirroring the way the series itself is presented. Nicolas Cage, who has seen all eight episodes, explained the decision in an interview with Esquire. He revealed he actually suggested offering both formats, recalling that Amazon was initially hesitant about using black and white. He told them, “You don’t have to stick to black and white; color is an option too, since this show is meant for everyone.”
Cage explained that he was particularly attracted to the black and white aesthetic, feeling it suited the style of a classic film noir. He also noted the vibrant color version is visually striking and believes it will appeal to younger audiences, while still offering the option of a more traditional viewing experience.
Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, a seasoned private investigator with a past as a superhero, in this series set in 1930s New York. The show also features Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston.
Harry Bradbeer oversaw direction and executive production of the first two episodes. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot lead the show as co-showrunners and executive producers, alongside Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, and Dan Shear. The series, featuring Spider-Noir, will debut this year on MGM+ in the United States and Prime Video internationally.
