Bad Bunny’s heartwarming gesture ahead of Super Bowl revealed by owner of taco shop who appeared in halftime show

The owner of a popular taco shop, featured in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, has shared the message of love that the Puerto Rican rapper emphasized to everyone involved.

Chef Victor Villa, owner of Villa’s Tacos, made a brief appearance during Bad Bunny’s concert, which was a celebration of his Puerto Rican heritage.

Even before Bad Bunny performed at the Super Bowl, his involvement sparked political controversy. Former President Trump publicly criticized the choice, and the organization Turning Point USA created its own separate halftime show as a protest.

Many wondered how Bad Bunny’s performance would address the current political situation. Ultimately, he delivered an energetic and joyful show that celebrated Puerto Rican and Hispanic heritage and promoted a message of togetherness.

Before the show even started, Bad Bunny shared a heartfelt message with his cast. According to an interview with The Daily Mail, the 31-year-old musician stopped a rehearsal to talk about the importance of love and connection with everyone involved.

During one of our rehearsals, he paused to speak with everyone about the importance of love,” Villa shared in an interview with The Daily Mail, while working at his bustling taco shop.

There’s a lot of negativity in the world, and it needs to stop. We should focus on spreading kindness and love, and that should be our priority.

Villa strives to infuse that message not through his everyday actions but into the food he serves.

I strive to show my care in everything I do – not just through what I say and how I act, but also through the food I prepare. I really put my heart into cooking.

Villa got a special mention from Bad Bunny himself when the rapper visited rehearsals the day after winning a Grammy award – a truly memorable moment.

I haven’t mentioned this to anyone before, but we were practicing in Santa Clara when he arrived. Everyone there gave him a standing ovation.

‘And I was one of the few ones where he came over and just like dabbed me up.’

Villa got the opportunity to be in the Super Bowl because a friend, who works in casting, contacted him on behalf of Bad Bunny’s team.

While his appearance in the show is comparatively brief, it is notable.

As a huge Bad Bunny fan, I loved the start of the show! It opens with him wandering through this incredible sugarcane maze, checking out all the different little shops and stands. One of the first places he visits is Villa’s taco stand, and honestly, it made me instantly hungry!

The rapper gave Villa a piragua, a traditional Puerto Rican shaved ice treat, and the restauranteur gladly took it.

For Villa, this achievement wasn’t just about his own success, but also a tribute to the hard work and sacrifices of his family and community in pursuit of a better life in America.

When asked about the significance of the happy occasion despite the surrounding political unrest, he explained that he was there for his family. He felt he wasn’t just speaking for himself or even for the tacos he was associated with, but for everyone who shared his background and felt represented by him – and vice versa.

This is for all Mexican-Americans and those who came to this country from Mexico, seeking a better life for themselves and their families.

He described the people he knows – like his dad – as truly hardworking and good-hearted, emphasizing they are the most diligent and kind individuals he’s ever met.

‘I was representing those who stood before me and who now I stand for.’

Villa’s Tacos has been surprisingly busy since the Super Bowl, with a constant stream of customers – something they don’t usually see on a weekday.

We usually only see them on weekends, but it’s Wednesday, and this has been happening all week – Monday, Tuesday, and now Wednesday.

‘So this is definitely as a result of the halftime show, but thank God. We’ve been so blessed.’

Villa began his business selling tacos out of his grandmother’s home. Now, he has several restaurants in Los Angeles and has gained international fame, boosted by a shout-out from Bad Bunny, but he still remembers where he started.

‘Every taco along the way led us to the Super Bowl.’
