Margot Robbie and her co-star Jacob Elordi arrived in Australia on Thursday morning, seemingly excited to be back home before the Australian premiere of their latest movie, Wuthering Heights.
Thirty-five-year-old Margot greeted everyone with a bright, dazzling smile as she walked through Sydney Airport, accompanied by security personnel.
She dressed casually for her flight in a white T-shirt, baggy jeans and chic ballet flats.
Looking like a doll, the stylish woman carried a high-end handbag and used Chanel sunglasses to block the sun as someone led her to a waiting car.
Jacob didn’t seem happy as he walked through the airport, keeping his head down and listening to music with his earphones.
He covered most of his face with a baseball cap and a pair of large sunglasses.
The Saltburn star looked dapper in a beige trench coat and a pair of black trousers.
Jacob, a fan of high-end designer handbags, was carrying a baby pink Bottega Veneta duffle bag.
Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will play the iconic characters Heathcliff and Catherine in a new film adaptation of Wuthering Heights. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 13th, perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day.
Throughout the movie’s promotional events, the actors have openly displayed their strong connection while posing for photos on the red carpet.
Fans have noticed similarities between this current pairing and the way Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell acted cozy with each other in 2023 while promoting their movie, ‘Anyone But You,’ leading some to believe this is a deliberate publicity strategy.
Jacob recently surprised people in an interview by saying he and his co-star were intensely fascinated with each other while making the movie.
In an interview with Fandango, Ryan Gosling shared that he stayed within 10 meters of Margot Robbie at all times while filming, ensuring he was always nearby.
He explained that if you ever get to work on a film set with Margot Robbie, you’ll want to stay close – within five to ten metres – the whole time.
I find myself observing her small habits – the way she holds her teacup, how she enjoys her meals. I keep waiting for a flaw, a moment of imperfection… but it never appears.
The strong connection between the actors helped them embody their characters. Jacob explained that during rehearsals, there were moments – like running across the moors, even before filming a scene – where they’d catch each other’s eyes and truly feel like they were Catherine and Heathcliff.
‘And in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.’
Meanwhile Margot claimed that she became ‘co-dependent’ on Jacob.
She explained that she tends to become overly attached to her coworkers and genuinely cares for everyone she works with. She often feels deeply upset when a job ends, finding it hard to move on. She believes she formed this strong connection with Jacob rather quickly as well.
Margot explained she got so used to being around the Saltburn actor that she felt uneasy and disoriented when he wasn’t there. She described feeling lost and vulnerable, comparing it to a child losing a comforting security blanket.
The actress, known for her role in the Barbie movie, shared a sweet story about what her partner, Jacob, did for her while they were filming around Valentine’s Day last year.
I’ll never forget filming on Valentine’s Day. He completely made my day – playing Heathcliff, he had roses delivered to my room, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture! It really felt special.
I recall thinking on Valentine’s Day that he must be a really good boyfriend, because he put a lot of thought into everything he did. He was very considerate.
Margot and Jacob recently had custom signet rings created as a special reminder of their relationship, it was reported on Wednesday.
These lovely rings each display a picture of two skeletons hugging, along with the quote, ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.’
Some people online have claimed that this couple is using the same promotional strategy as Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell did when they were promoting their movie, ‘Anyone But You’.
Someone commented that the film’s promotion is overly aggressive, comparing it to the publicity surrounding Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell – suggesting it’s purely a marketing tactic.
‘Overdoing it to sell their chemistry,’ a third agreed.
‘This shouldn’t be necessary if the film is actually good.’
Some people found the statement unsettling, with one person directly commenting that it was ‘super creepy’ to say while married.
Robbie recently shared that she enjoyed the movie’s dramatic ups and downs, and mentioned her character cries throughout almost every scene.
When asked about how she approaches romantic scenes, she explained to PEOPLE that she doesn’t change her preparation at all. She said the film itself requires a lot from everyone involved.
