Oh my gosh, Cindy Crawford was so smart! I mean, she basically aced everything growing up in Illinois. She was the valedictorian of her high school, DeKalb High, back in ’84, which is incredible, and she even got a scholarship to study computer engineering at Northwestern! Can you believe it? She could have done anything!
Despite being a bright woman, she left college at 19 to pursue her dream of becoming a supermodel, a decision that many people criticized.
‘People immediately treated me like I was dumb,’ Crawford told OK! Magazine on Tuesday. ‘I wasn’t.’
The co-founder of Meaningful Beauty shared that she had big dreams as a child, initially wanting to become the first female president. She also considered careers in medicine or education, and still feels she’d enjoy a profession like those. She always loved learning and going to school.
I remember being so surprised when I saw Cindy Crawford on MTV’s House of Style flipping through her old yearbook! It really showed a different side of her – she wasn’t just a supermodel, she was seriously involved in academics too. She was on the math team, named an Illinois State Scholar, part of the National Honor Society, and super active in student council. It was amazing to see how well-rounded she was!
The host jokingly pointed out a photo from their high school yearbook, saying it was clearly inspired by the movie Flashdance.
When people criticized her decision to embrace her natural glow on camera, Crawford handled it by reminding herself that their negativity said more about them than it did about her.
The model explained that she grew up with a common and unfair belief: people often assumed models weren’t intelligent.
Today’s models can express themselves much more than in the past. Thanks to social media, they have a platform to share their personalities and prove they’re more than just a pretty face on a magazine cover.
Crawford is turning the big 6-0 next week and she’s ready to ’embrace it.’
It’s normal to feel insecure sometimes. We live in a society that often values youth over experience, which can be difficult, and many of us are also very hard on ourselves.
It’s unclear why things are the way they are, but it’s important to move forward and accept it, regardless of your age. Just be true to yourself and allow others to be who they are. We could all benefit from being more accepting and less judgmental.
Honestly, life is wonderful right now. After years of both my husband, Rande, and I being completely caught up in work and building our careers, we’re really savoring this chapter. It’s such a joy to simply enjoy each other’s company and watch our grown kids navigate their own lives. It feels really good to finally slow down and appreciate everything.
She and the 63-year-old Casamigos co-founder have been impressively married for 27 years.
Kaia Gerber, the 24-year-old daughter of model Cindy Crawford, is also pursuing a career in entertainment. She’s landed a main role in the Apple TV+ series, Palm Royale.
Presley Gerber, son of a well-known couple, shares details about his mental health journey through ‘Mental Health Mondays.’ He openly discusses the medications he uses to manage depression and insomnia, including Buprenorphine, Xanax, Valium, Remeron, Belsomra, and Melatonin.
Okay, so I was watching this Instagram video – it’s gone now, sadly – but this guy, he’s covered in tattoos and only 26, and he just explained how they make him feel… like, genuinely good, or at least okay, you know? It was on December 29th, and I’ve been replaying it in my head ever since.
I’ve found that medications are more effective when I prioritize my overall health – things like eating well, exercising, and taking care of myself.
Gerber – who’s seen 15 psychiatrists – added: ‘I’m feeling good about where I’m at now.’
