During the seventh season of HIMYM, she joined Cobie Smulders as Quinn Garvey, an exotic dancer who develops a relationship with Barney Stinson, played by Neil Patrick Harris.

Although Newton and Smulders didn’t share many scenes together on screen, they were both cast members on How I Met Your Mother for one season and occasionally worked together. Even though Quinn only appeared in 10 episodes, her role was memorable. Because of their history, Smulders joining the cast of The Lincoln Lawyer feels especially significant.
