Man of the moment Bad Bunny smashes Spotify streaming records after his blockbuster Super Bowl halftime show

Bad Bunny is currently the most streamed artist on Spotify, breaking records after his popular performance at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.

Usher, age 31 and known for his hit song “Tití Me Preguntó,” delivered a stunning performance as the headliner of the Apple Music Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, performed his popular Latin songs like NUEVAYoL, DtMF, and EoO at the stadium.

I was absolutely blown away by his performance! It led to an incredible 183.7 million streams on Spotify in just one day – February 9th. It was a record-breaking moment, and I couldn’t stop listening!

This was the biggest day for streaming by a male artist since he last broke the record in 2024, and it was the highest single-day total for any artist so far in 2026.

In 2025, Bad Bunny topped Spotify’s charts worldwide, racking up over 19.8 billion streams all year long.

He regained the top spot, taking the title from Taylor Swift, who had held it for the past two years, in 2023 and 2024.

His Super Bowl halftime show was popular, but didn’t quite break viewing records. It ranked fourth all-time, following performances by Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson, and Usher.

Nielsen data released on Tuesday shows that the 15-minute halftime show at Levi’s Stadium averaged 128.2 million viewers between 8:15 and 8:30 PM.

Kendrick Lamar currently holds the record with 133.5 million listeners, set last year. Michael Jackson attracted 133.4 million listeners in 1993, and Usher reached 129.3 million in 2024.

However, Bad Bunny can take heart in the fact that his livestream performance significantly outperformed Turning Point USA’s ‘All American’ show, which reached a high of 6.1 million viewers and generally averaged around 5 million during its YouTube broadcast.

The TPUSA show, featuring Kid Rock alongside artists like Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, has reached 21 million views on YouTube.

Okay, so Bad Bunny has 62 million followers, which is HUGE, but honestly, the numbers don’t even begin to tell the whole story! What really mattered was seeing everyone talking about him everywhere – on TV, all over social media, for days! It was insane, and proof he’s a total phenomenon. I was glued to everything, obviously!

Videos of the Puerto Rican singer have amassed an amazing four billion views in just one day – a 137% increase compared to last year. The three most-watched videos ever posted on the NFL’s social media all come from Bad Bunny’s performance, with his ‘Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love’ finale leading the way.

The NFL’s social media videos have accumulated over 115 years of watch time across all platforms.

Bad Bunny amazed the audience during the halftime show, and fans were especially surprised to see Lady Gaga and Pedro Pascal join him.

Lady Gaga surprised the audience by joining the performer on stage after his initial songs. She performed a salsa-infused rendition of “Die With A Smile.”

Ricky Martin also joined the show later to perform Lo que le pasó a Hawaii.

One fan excitedly shared on X that the halftime show was incredibly exciting, comparing it to a powerful and addictive experience, given their love for both Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny.

‘bad bunny and Gaga’s relationship is the cutest thing ever,’ another viewer enthused.

One fan raved about Bad Bunny’s performance, saying it was amazing and they especially loved the atmosphere and visual presentation. They also gave high praise to the appearances by Gaga and Ricky, calling Bad Bunny – or Benito – a total success!

Another viewer felt similarly and praised the visual elements of the halftime show.

Everything was perfect – the production, set design, visuals, choreography, Lady Gaga, and Bad Bunny all received top marks. It was a ten across the board!

Others noted that the guest spot was fitting, as Bad Bunny is an avowed fan of Lady Gaga.

One viewer excitedly pointed out that Bad Bunny, a known fan of Lady Gaga, brought her on stage with him, calling it a dream come true! 😭

Bad Bunny kicked off his primarily Spanish-language performance with “Tití Me Preguntó,” walking through a sugarcane field built specifically for the show.

I’ve noticed a really fresh, minimalist look gaining popularity – think crisp white separates. I recently spotted someone rocking a short-sleeved white shirt and comfortable white drawstring trousers – both from Zara, I believe – and the whole outfit felt incredibly relaxed and put-together. He even had a football, and the white gloves were a really unexpected, chic touch! It’s all about effortless style right now.

In addition to Pedro Pascal, the crowd was populated by stars including Cardi B and Jessica Alba.

He ended the show by exclaiming ‘God bless America!’ and then listed the countries in Latin America that many US immigrants come from, finishing with the US, Canada, and his home country, Puerto Rico.

Above the field, a bright electronic billboard displayed a message: ‘The only thing stronger than hate is love.’

Bad Bunny forcefully threw the football to the ground as fireworks exploded around the stadium, and plumes of red, white, and blue smoke rose into the air.

With the Super Bowl approaching, many fans were curious if Bad Bunny would use the event’s large audience to protest a potential second term for President Trump and the increased immigration enforcement actions happening across the United States by ICE.

Before the musician even started performing, some football fans – especially those who support Donald Trump and identify with the MAGA movement – voiced their disapproval online.

Bad Bunny had performed at the Super Bowl before, making a guest appearance during the halftime show at Super Bowl LIV in 2020 alongside Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.

He made history as the first Latin artist to perform solo as the headliner during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Okay, seriously, he’s just killing it right now! And can we talk about last week? Winning Album of the Year at the Grammys for ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’?! I was screaming! It was history in the making, and I was there for it, even if just in spirit. He’s just on another level right now, I swear.

The win marked the first time a Spanish-language LP has won the coveted Grammys honor.

Bad Bunny was visibly moved when he won a Grammy. He sat down in shock and cried for a few moments, covering his face with his hands after hearing his name announced.

Bad Bunny, speaking primarily in Spanish, used his acceptance speech to show support for immigrants. He referenced recent ICE raids and dedicated the award to those who left their homes to pursue their dreams.

But he made his criticism of the agency explicit elsewhere in his acceptance speech.

Before expressing gratitude to God, Bad Bunny shouted ‘ICE Out’ to the roaring applause of the Grammys audience.

The rapper emphasized, ‘We’re not wild, we’re not beasts, and we’re certainly not from another world. We are simply people, and we are Americans.’

Hatred grows stronger when it’s met with more hatred. But love is even more powerful. We need to choose a different path, and if we must confront conflict, let’s do so with love.

Bad Bunny explained, ‘We have nothing against anyone; we love our fans and our families, and that’s how we want to approach everything – with love.’
