Demi Lovato cancels five shows, pushes back start of tour to ‘protect health’

Demi Lovato is making some changes to their upcoming tour in order to prioritize their heath.

The singer, who has been nominated for a Grammy, shared on Instagram Tuesday that they are canceling five concerts and delaying the start of their ‘It’s Not That Serious’ tour. The tour will now begin on April 13th in Orlando, Florida, instead of April 8th in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lovato shared a message with fans on Instagram saying they’re looking forward to performing live again and visiting as many cities as possible.

Lovato announced they need to adjust their upcoming tour schedule. In a statement, they explained that preparing for the tour made them realize they’d initially planned too much. To prioritize their health and deliver the best possible performances, they need more time for rest, rehearsal, and built-in breaks throughout the tour.

Demi Lovato’s latest album is raw and honest, showcasing their journey of healing – not only from substance abuse, but also from past experiences with sexual shame, religious trauma, and unhealthy relationships.

Lovato’s North American tour was initially planned to include 23 cities. However, several dates have been changed or canceled. The Charlotte show was removed, the Orlando show was moved from April 10th to the 13th, and performances in Atlanta (April 12th), Nashville (April 14th), Denver (May 5th), and Las Vegas (May 8th) were all canceled.

Demi Lovato announced that fans who bought tickets to the canceled shows through Ticketmaster or AXS will automatically receive their money back. If you purchased tickets from another seller, please contact that company directly for a refund. Tickets for the original Orlando show will still be valid for the rescheduled date.

Demi Lovato had previously said they wouldn’t tour again. This current tour is their first since they last toured in 2022 to promote their album, ‘Holy Fvck’.

Lovato shared their excitement for the upcoming tour, saying they can’t wait to see fans singing along.
