Singer divorcing Bones producer husband after he was named in the Epstein files looks devastated on first public outing

Singer Brooke Josephson looked sad in Los Angeles on Monday, following her recent announcement that she is divorcing her husband, who was mentioned in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Forty-six-year-old Brooke was spotted getting a smoothie at Kreation Juicery. She was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit and a white top, paired with white and gray sneakers.

The singer, known as The Good Kinda Tired, completed her look with white-rimmed glasses and a camouflage hat that said ‘LA’ in pink. She also carried a black Chanel wallet-on-chain bag with studded details.

Brooke and Barry Josephson, who have two children together and is an executive producer on the TV show Bones, are officially divorcing. This news came just days after Brooke announced the split on Instagram.

Brooke stated she wanted to share some personal news following recent reports, explaining that she had no knowledge of her ex-husband Barry’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein throughout their marriage.

As a lot of you may have heard, my client Barry and his partner went their separate ways in December 2024. I can confirm that Barry was the one who first took the legal steps to begin the separation process, filing the initial paperwork in Los Angeles.

Brooke, who has been married to Josephson since 2007, shared a message on Instagram on Saturday asking for privacy and prayers for her children and herself during a difficult time.

She ended the message by thanking everyone who had been kind and understanding during this difficult period.

As a longtime follower of this case, I was shocked to learn from newly released documents that Barry Josephson and Jeffrey Epstein were in frequent contact. It seems their conversations often revolved around women and financial matters, which is deeply disturbing to see confirmed.

An email from 2011 revealed a conversation where Josephson offered Epstein a young woman, describing her with crude and objectifying language, stating he had “the” girl and mentioning her physical attributes in a vulgar way.

According to Department of Justice documents released last month, Barry Josephson described the woman as intelligent and highly effective, willing to do whatever was needed, and very discreet.

The Daily Mail has reached out to both parties for further comment on the story.

After Jeffrey Epstein admitted guilt in 2008 to soliciting prostitution, including involving a minor, Barry Josephson began communicating with him.

In an email from February 2013, Josephson invited Epstein to his office, writing that he was ‘casting girls for my pilot on Monday if he wants to stop by :).’

According to Justice Department documents, when Jeffrey Epstein asked producer Scott Josephson to cast certain women in his shows, Josephson responded that he would ‘do anything’ to compensate Epstein if he couldn’t use his influence to fulfill the requests.

Auditioning is really tough and often leads to rejection,” Josephson told Epstein. He even mentioned it was hard to get his then-wife, Brooke, a small part on the show Bones back in 2007.

Records show Josephson received two loans from Epstein: $120,000 in 2011 and $215,000 in 2013, and that both loans were fully paid back.

Once the second loan was settled, Josephson emailed Epstein, expressing how grateful he was for their friendship.

Okay, so I’ve been following the Epstein case obsessively, and this lawyer, Evan D. Schein in New York, just said something that totally makes sense to me. He told the Daily Mail that the Josephson divorce – you know, the one everyone’s talking about – might be just the first of many! He thinks now that those Epstein files are out, more secrets will come out and more marriages will fall apart. I knew it! It’s all connected, I just knew it!

The release of the Epstein files has already caused financial and reputational damage, as Schein pointed out. Now, we’re seeing a significant impact on personal lives, with several prominent couples divorcing after being linked to the files.

According to the lawyer, who hosts a podcast called Schein On focusing on celebrity divorces, divorce judges regularly encounter extremely difficult cases and often see people behaving at their lowest points.

Schein explained that in a divorce where couples disagree, judges will naturally need detailed answers to many questions before deciding about child custody or how to divide finances.

Schein recommends that couples facing this issue should be cautious and seek legal advice from a divorce lawyer.

According to Schein, understanding your legal rights early on can help you make smart choices about finances, child custody, and what to do next. It can also prevent situations from getting worse, whether in court or with media attention.

Earlier this month, Barry Josephson told Variety he had no prior knowledge of Epstein and was completely severing ties after learning more about him.

The film producer expressed remorse in a statement to the media regarding his communication with Epstein, who died in jail in 2019.

Josephson admitted his emails contained inappropriate language, saying he was ashamed of using crude and immature phrasing. He apologized and stated there was no justification for his words.

He admitted to being at social events with Epstein and that Epstein visited his film sets a couple of times, but he firmly stated he never traveled on Epstein’s plane, went to his island, or saw him with any underage people.

After 47 years in the entertainment business, Josephson said he’s met countless people.

‘My biggest regret, bar none, is that I foolishly believed his denials of wrongdoing.’

Josephson explained that he failed to see the truth about Epstein because he was surrounded by people from many different fields who were connected to him, and this clouded his judgment.

He concluded his statement by saying he was sorry to anyone harmed by this awful person.

Ghislaine Maxwell declined to cooperate with questioning about Epstein, stating she would only do so if President Trump granted her a pardon.

Maxwell invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when she testified remotely before members of the House Oversight Committee in a private hearing on Capitol Hill.

She testified as part of the congressional investigation, conducted by both Democrats and Republicans, into how the Justice Department handled the prosecution of the Epstein case.

Ghislaine Maxwell, 64, is currently in prison in Texas, serving a 20-year sentence after being found guilty in 2021 of helping Jeffrey Epstein traffic young girls.
