January 2026 started strong for mobile games, and we’re excited to share our best performers. The global download charts saw some changes from the end of 2025, with a few games that were popular then fading and new titles rising in popularity.
Top Mobile Games by Downloads for January 2026
Block Blast started the year strong, remaining the most downloaded mobile game worldwide with 28.1 million downloads. Although slightly down from its high in December, it easily held the number one spot.
Free Fire regained the second-most downloaded game spot with 25.8 million installs, moving ahead of Roblox, which dropped to third with 22.5 million downloads. While the difference in downloads between the two games decreased a bit this month, both continue to keep players highly engaged as they enter the first quarter of the year.
Pizza Ready! remained steady at number four with 17.5 million downloads, while Subway Surfers followed closely behind in fifth with 15.5 million installs. Vita Mahjong jumped to sixth place, exceeding 15.1 million downloads and confirming the popularity of casual and board games in January.
Tile Explorer – Triple Match ranked seventh with 12.5 million downloads. Solitaire Associations Journey and Paper.io 2 were close behind in eighth and ninth place. Ludo King completed the top 10 with 12.3 million installs, maintaining its position even with more new casual games available.
Just outside the top ten, XD Games’ new hit game, Heartopia, landed in 11th place, slightly ahead of Last War: Survival at 12th. Arrows – Puzzle Escape and School Party Craft remained consistently popular at 13th and 14th, respectively. My Talking Tom 2 made a return to the top 15, rounding out the list with 10.5 million downloads.
Top Mobile Games by Revenue for January 2026
Okay, so January was a great month for Honor of Kings! It jumped back to the top of the charts, earning a whopping $172.3 million. Honestly, I was a little worried when it dropped down to 7th place last December, but it looks like things are back on track for this game. Definitely a good start to the year!
MONOPOLY GO! held strong at number two with $125 million in revenue, continuing its successful performance into the new year. Last War: Survival was close behind in third place with $116.8 million, showing it continues to generate significant revenue after a strong finish to 2025.
Royal Match earned $107.1 million, landing it in fourth place, just ahead of Roblox at $106.4 million in fifth. PUBG Mobile rebounded strongly to sixth place with $102.9 million, showing improvement after some instability towards the end of last year.
Whiteout Survival earned $101.3 million, landing in seventh place. Candy Crush Saga followed closely in eighth with $87.5 million, remaining a consistent top performer. Gossip Harbor: Merge & Story rounded out the top ten, securing ninth place with $80.1 million and continuing its gradual climb in popularity.
Kingshot earned $71.5 million, securing a spot in the top 10 despite strong competition. Just outside the top 10 were Coin Master, Last Z: Survival Shooter, and Delta Force. Genshin Impact and Township rounded out the top 15. Interestingly, Clash Royale, which performed well in December, didn’t rank in the top games for January.
