Pillow fight! Ja Rule and Tony Yayo take their beef to new heights during clash on airplane

I couldn’t believe what happened! I was on a flight with some of 50 Cent’s artists when Ja Rule ended up on the same plane. It turns out their rivalry goes way back – almost 30 years! – and it finally boiled over right there in the air. It was crazy seeing that decades-long beef come to a head like that.

The weapons of choice? Angry words and airplane pillows.

50 Cent didn’t miss a chance to tease his old rival Ja Rule after Ja Rule mentioned Jesus while performing on stage.

The confrontation happened after Ja Rule and another man saw each other on a Delta flight from San Francisco to New York’s JFK airport. TMZ published a video showing Ja Rule yelling in the airplane aisle while someone tried to de-escalate the situation. The celebrity news site reported that he was using profanity and threatening to fight.

The disagreement escalated with both sides shouting insults, reportedly rooted in a decades-old rivalry between Ja Rule and 50 Cent. According to HipHop DX, common insults included variations of “sucka,” “old,” and “police.”

Ja Rule boasted online about a recent incident, posting on X (formerly Twitter) that he confronted someone on a plane alone and playfully threw a pillow at them. He said it knocked the person’s hat off and he found the whole thing funny.

Throwing a small pillow or knocking someone’s hat off is surprisingly similar to actually hitting them. It’s true!

2 Chainz created a cookbook featuring recipes designed for the limited space of a tour bus.

But Yayo and his buddy Uncle Murda saw the exchange a little differently.

Uncle Murda shared a video on Instagram showing him sitting in Ja Rule’s seat on a plane, jokingly captioning it, “Ja got off the plane lol I took his seat.”

After the initial conflict, 50 Cent, founder of G-Unit, also shared his criticism on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed Ja Rule “created a scene” because he was alone and needed security to remove him, and then added a string of highly offensive remarks.

A Delta representative confirmed to The Times that a disagreement between passengers occurred on a flight from San Francisco to New York on Sunday. Flight attendants spoke with both passengers involved, and ultimately, one of them was rebooked on a later flight.

Hollywood Inc.

Rapper 50 Cent is investing $124 million to build a new production facility for his company, G-Unit Film & Television, with the goal of boosting Louisiana’s entertainment industry.

The start of the rap rivalry back in the ’90s is unclear. Some say it began when Ja Rule felt disrespected by 50 Cent after someone connected to 50 Cent supposedly stole his chain on a music video set. Others believe it started when 50 Cent was excluded by the group Murder Inc. – which featured artists like Jay-Z and DMX – during a different video shoot.

For years, these two have traded insults, released diss tracks, played pranks, and argued on social media, with only brief periods of calm. It’s safe to say they don’t get along, and those close to them aren’t encouraging any kind of friendship.

Ja Rule mentioned to Vibe last year that his long-running feud with 50 Cent negatively impacted hip-hop by dividing New York rappers. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to help things this weekend when a false alarm about a potential threat on a plane caused widespread panic among travelers.

Moral of the story? If you have a beef, don’t fly commercial.
