Monster Hunter Wilds Confirms a Large-Scale Expansion, Update 1.041 Launches Next Week

As the one-year mark for Monster Hunter Wilds gets closer, Capcom is sharing plans for the game’s future. They’ve announced a large expansion is in the works, and a new update (version 1.041) will arrive on February 18th. This update will include new monsters, quests, and special events to celebrate the anniversary.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced that a major expansion, similar in size to Iceborne for Monster Hunter: World and Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Rise, is currently in development.

All The New Features In Version 1.041 And The Events Coming In February And March

Tsujimoto announced in a video that we’ll learn the first official details about the expansion this summer.

Update 1.041 is coming soon, bringing with it Arch-tempered Arkveld and several incredibly challenging 10-star Arch Tempered Monsters like Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. Players can also look forward to new event quests, tough optional challenges, and a brand new side mission to complete.

Players can earn exciting rewards like unique weapon designs and pendants submitted by winners of the official contest. They’ll also receive a free voucher to customize both their character and Palico.

The update features a team-up with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, bringing a unique side quest, special gear, and exclusive pendants to the game. Players will also be able to enjoy the game with a new Latin American Spanish audio option.

Capcom has announced its plans for February and March, featuring limited-time in-game events called Festivals of Accord. Players can also look forward to special quests celebrating an anniversary on February 28th, and free challenges culminating in a final battle against Arch-tempered Arkveld on March 19th.
