Kate and Rio Ferdinand show off their ripped physiques in matching cover shoots for Women’s and Men’s Health UK as they open up on why they relocated to Dubai after she admitted she was ‘struggling’ with the move

Kate and Rio Ferdinand both graced the covers of Women’s and Men’s Health UK, displaying their fit bodies in coordinated photoshoots.

The couple, who moved to the UAE with their children last year, proudly showed off their fit bodies.

Kate, 34, recently shared that she’s been finding it difficult to adjust to their move to Dubai and became emotional while admitting she feels homesick and misses her family.

She admitted that while she’s loved living in Dubai, she’s found it difficult being separated from her two older sons, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, who remained in the UK to pursue their football dreams.

Kate and Rio Ferdinand, 47, relocated with their family, including Rio’s daughter Tia, 13, from a previous marriage, and their two young children, five-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae.

In the March issue, Rio explained his recent move, describing it as a new adventure. He shared that his life has always been dictated by schedules – first as a football player, and then as a commentator – and he’s ready for a change.

Big changes and new adventures don’t come along often. This is a rare chance to try something different and push ourselves, and it’s exactly what we’ve been hoping for.

Kate shared that she’s aware of what helps her stay mentally healthy, explaining that exercise and therapy are beneficial when she’s having a difficult time.

She admitted that feeling good about her appearance is important to her happiness. However, she emphasized that she prioritizes exercise for its positive impact on her mental wellbeing.

I also want to set a good example for my kids by prioritizing my health. Seeing me work out motivates them, and that’s really important to me.

I understand my own emotions and know what helps me feel better. I’m comfortable seeking therapy if I need it, and I also find things like going for a walk or talking to friends helpful when I’m having a tough time.

She recently described her family’s move as a real eye-opener, like entering a completely new world. Despite that, she expressed her continued love for London and the UK, highlighting all the things she appreciates about the country.

‘I do feel happy in Dubai, but I’m just missing a part of me.’

Kate also mentioned that stepping down from his job as a sports commentator for TNT Sports last year has allowed Rio to spend more quality time with his family.

She described it as a wonderful place to live, especially for kids. She said her children are doing really well, are happy, and enjoy the freedom of growing up with lots of outdoor space.

I’m having a good time in Rio, but I’m also feeling homesick and a little sad. I really miss my family and it’s been difficult being away from them.

I’m confident this is the best move for my younger kids, and our family feels comfortable with it. My older sons are pursuing their football dreams, which is what they want, and if they weren’t, they’d be here with us.

It’s really tough, because our family has always been incredibly close and relied on each other, so this change is a big challenge.

Kate mentioned she and her family feel much safer living in Dubai compared to the UK, although she surprisingly confessed she even misses the weather back in England.

She added: ‘If I could merge the two worlds together it would be absolutely perfect.

I’m feeling nostalgic. I miss being around others, and simple things like the rain and fresh, cool air. I especially miss the unique atmosphere and diverse people of England.

I also appreciate that Dubai exposes my children to a wide variety of cultures as they grow up.

Kate explained that the move has been positive for Rio, saying he’s been traveling frequently recently, but now has a better work-life balance. She noted that when he’s home, he’s fully present with the family, unlike before when he was often still working.

We mostly just go for walks now. We used to spend a lot of time together, but I didn’t realize how independent we each were, as our schedules were always so full.

He often does the school run, which is really sweet of him. He’s also said he’s not upset, just getting used to things.
