As a big movie fan, I always look forward to the Super Bowl for the trailers, and Super Bowl LX didn’t disappoint! We got new glimpses of sequels like Scream 7 and Minions & Monsters, but it was cool to see some original movies like Project Hail Mary and Hoppers get a spot too. In total, nine movie trailers aired during Super Bowl 2026 – a pretty good haul!
Let’s be honest, not every trailer is meant to blow you away, and that’s okay. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie seemed perfectly content with a short, cheerful tease. The Mandalorian & Grogu trailer? That one left a lot of people scratching their heads, and opinions were seriously split. But there was one trailer that really stole the show, and honestly, it’s got this movie poised for a huge year.
Disclosure Day Was The Best Movie Trailer At The Super Bowl
I definitely think the trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day was the biggest hit of the Super Bowl. While the teaser for The Adventures of Cliff Booth was good and the trailer for Project Hail Mary still looks promising, Disclosure Day really stood out and made the biggest impression.
Honestly, I was expecting the trailer to drop, but Universal’s marketing team absolutely nailed it – and that’s huge with so many films vying for attention right now. They really built up the mystery and suspense of Spielberg’s new alien movie, and it immediately felt like another massive sci-fi adventure from the guy who brought us E.T., Close Encounters, Minority Report, and all those other classics I love.
The movie’s conversations clearly establish what’s at risk and the underlying tension as Josh O’Connor’s character discovers proof of aliens. Certain images are particularly memorable, like the closing shot of a UFO breaking through the clouds. The film, directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring well-known actors like Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and O’Connor, makes sure to highlight its cast.
I was particularly impressed with the trailer, and it seems like it sparked a lot of positive conversation online – it really got people talking. Plus, it was released at the perfect time, right before the Super Bowl kickoff, to ensure as many people saw it as possible. Overall, it was the strongest trailer of the Super Bowl, and exactly the kind of impact Universal was aiming for.
Disclosure Day’s Super Bowl Trailer Reaction Sets It Up For Success
Everyone had good reason to expect Disclosure Day to do well. Spielberg consistently delivers popular and successful blockbuster films, particularly in the science fiction and action genres. Universal Pictures was also confident in the film, strategically releasing it in June—right in the heart of the peak summer movie season, which is where studios typically launch their biggest potential hits.
If the Super Bowl ad for Disclosure Day really captured the attention of the approximately 100 million viewers, the movie has a much better chance of succeeding in theaters. The ad was designed to make people feel like this is a must-see film this summer, and that should translate into strong ticket sales.
As a big movie fan, I think Universal can definitely point to the Disclosure Day Super Bowl trailer as a key part of what made the film so successful. It really helped get people excited, and I’m sure it played a role in the final numbers.
