Just over four months before it hits theaters, a new trailer for Supergirl was unveiled during Super Bowl LX. Even with many other previews shown throughout the game, the DC superhero movie stood out.
The new movie features Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, picking up the story after the events of the 2025 film Superman. She and her dog, Krypto, journey across the galaxy, but soon Kara finds herself driven by a desire for revenge.
The new trailer opens with a promise of incredible power, then introduces the incredibly cute baby Krypto. We then see a lot of exciting action set to Blondie’s ‘Call Me’, and it looks like Kara will be bringing some witty humor to the mix!

The short trailer really got people excited about the movie. One fan shared on Reddit, “This looks amazing!” They were also happy to hear a preview of the music and see a glimpse of young Krypto.”
Fans are loving the new movie! One exclaimed, “This is the best movie ever!” Another shared, “It looks like a lot of fun, and maybe even better than a Superman movie!” A third person commented that while it could be clever editing, the trailer suggests a really strong film.

Honestly, I’m already bracing myself for the scenes with Krypto and Kara showing Krypton’s destruction – I just know I’m going to be a mess! And seeing little puppy Krypto? Forget about it, this movie is going to wreck me emotionally.
Alongside Alcock, the movie Supergirl will also star Matthias Schoenaerts, Emily Beecham, David Krumholtz, and Jason Momoa. David Corenswet will return as Superman/Clark Kent, who is Kara’s cousin.
Actress Alcock, known for her work on House of the Dragon, recently discussed her upcoming part as Kara, hinting that the character shows young women they don’t have to be perfect to be strong.

You don’t need to be perfect to find peace with yourself. There’s a lot of pressure, particularly on women, to believe they have to excel at everything they do.
Kara is incredibly genuine and embraces her imperfections, which is really admirable,” she explained. The director, Craig Gillespie, described her as a superhero who doesn’t necessarily want the role.
Supergirl is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 26 June.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page magazine dedicated to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99.
