Scarlett Thomas, whose parents are famous, recently shared a video on TikTok demonstrating her singing talent. This came after she responded to online criticism about her clothing choices.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always thrilled to see young talent shine! I recently learned that the daughter of Corrie stars Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas – she’s only 17! – just signed a record deal, and she performed one of her original songs. It’s so exciting to watch the next generation of artists emerge!
Oh my gosh, she was absolutely breathtaking! Seriously, a total pop goddess. She had this incredible faux fur coat on, and the diamonds! And when she started singing, it wasn’t just a performance, it was like she was pouring her heart out with every single word. I was completely mesmerized!
Scarlett recently spoke about the negative comments she’s received online regarding her maturity, following an appearance on her father Ryan’s show, ‘At Home With The Thomas Brothers’.
She explained that she’s seventeen and feeling a little strange about how people perceive her. She thinks her fans have a somewhat unusual view of her age, often assuming she’s much younger, and she doesn’t think they’re prepared to see her mature and grow up. It feels odd to her.
It’s really annoying, but I’ve noticed that other people my age who are also online don’t get the same kinds of comments that I do. People often ask me why I’m growing up so quickly.
Scarlett explained that she was eager to be seen as an adult once she turned eighteen. She believes people have been observing her since she was a baby, and that contributes to how they view her now.
‘But it can be a bit frustrating because, you know, I want to be taken seriously. I’m not a child.’
Last month, Scarlett’s dad, Ryan, announced she was going to Nashville to record music with Julien Bunetta, who has written songs for the band One Direction.
He discussed on his podcast how surprising it is that the artist she signed is connected to Julian Bunetta, who, along with his two brothers, owns the record label in the United States.
Ryan added: ‘In the music industry he’s probably the biggest thing right now.
Scarlett is traveling to Nashville next month to record an episode at his home. She’ll be staying there for a week.
He went on, saying, “Isn’t that wild?” And his daughter responded, “Dad, I feel like I need to pinch myself – I can’t believe this is happening.”
It’s amazing to think she’ll be in Nashville, the heart of the music industry, surrounded by incredibly talented musicians. She’ll be fully immersed in that creative environment, and who knows – maybe we’ll hear a song she worked on on the radio someday.
‘Like, how proud are we as a family?’
Ryan recently posted a picture of himself with his daughter celebrating her record deal with Big Family Music. They were at a restaurant when the photo was taken.
He also posted a video of her singing at that same restaurant five years ago when she was 12.
He shared a video with a heartfelt message: ‘Today is an incredible day for me. I’ll always treasure watching my daughter sign her first record deal.’
Everything seemed to fall into place today. When we arrived at the restaurant to finalize the deal, Scarlett excitedly pointed out she’d been there before, and then we discovered this video.
She sang ‘A Million Dreams’ while standing on a chair in front of our family, and now, five years later, we’re helping her make that dream a reality.
She posted a picture of herself signing the contract, expressing her excitement and gratitude for this incredible opportunity and all that’s to come.
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! I’ve been working on something special for a while now, and today I can finally let everyone know. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the year and hope to release some great music soon.
He alsodefended his controversial decision to allow Scarlett to skip sitting her GCSEs.
Scarlett, known for her role on the BBC show Waterloo Road last year, revealed in a TikTok video that she didn’t take the national exams.
I’m seeing everyone get their GCSE results today and thinking about whether I could have done well too, but I’ll always be left wondering what might have been.
The video sparked a lot of online debate, as many people felt it was wrong for the teenager to skip her exams and school to pursue acting.
He defiantly said: ‘Is it even anyone’s business or concern though?’
