Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay, who recently got married, gave fans a peek at the final leg of their honeymoon, enjoying the sunshine in Australia on Sunday.
The couple, including the 31-year-old athlete and Gordon Ramsay’s 26-year-old daughter, began their travels with a luxurious, £6,000-per-night trip to Mauritius, courtesy of her parents, before continuing on to Australia.
The couple got married at Bath Abbey in December, despite a family conflict that meant the groom’s mother, Caroline, wasn’t invited, and only his sister, Bethany, was there to represent the family.
Adam shared a romantic photo on Instagram of himself with his new wife, with his arm around her as they watched the sunset.
Adam displayed his fit, tattooed body by swimming in the pool wearing only small briefs.
He shared a post about finishing their honeymoon ‘Down Under,’ in a place he loves, and mentioned he couldn’t resist getting a workout in while he was there, tagging his wife, Holly Ramsay Peaty.
This follows reports that the family of swimmer Adam has criticized TV chef Gordon, calling him a ‘bully’ after he suggested their issues with Adam were of their own making.
Gordon Ramsay told the Daily Mail that he and his wife, Tana, hadn’t done anything wrong and had always treated the Peaty family very well, despite what some reports claim. You can find the complete interview here.
However, a family member has stated that Gordon Ramsay’s denial isn’t true and believes he’s gone too far in the family dispute.
They said: ‘How bl***y dare they. The sheer gall of them’.
The Ramsays weren’t kind to Caroline; they completely dismissed her. They acted as if she didn’t matter, and Mrs. Ramsay never even responded to her messages.
They also revealed that the celebratory lunch promised after the engagement never actually happened.
The Daily Mail have contacted Gordon Ramsay’s representatives for comment.
On Sunday Caroline paid tribute to her husband Mark as she marked their 34th wedding anniversary.
Caroline shared some photos with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. She wrote a sweet message saying ‘Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! We’ve been married for 34 years and together for 37. Thank you for always being my support and my strength. I love you forever.’
Friends say the family recently told them they no longer believe they can repair their relationship with their son, following a recent post he made on social media.
In a comment on Adam’s wedding video, the chef jokingly called himself ‘dad,’ responding to the Olympian’s declaration that he’d ‘always choose’ his wife, Holly.
A source shared with The Sun that the family is going through a difficult emotional period as they process recent events and Adam’s decision about where his loyalties lie.
Any chance of them getting back together seems to be gone for now. Both sides are trying to deal with things privately and focus on the future. It’s obvious Adam has decided where his loyalties lie.
Gordon commented on Adam’s Instagram wedding video, writing: ‘Such lovely words, @adamramsaypeaty! Congratulations to you both – love you so much, Dad.’
A family argument unfortunately dampened the couple’s wedding celebrations. According to The Sun, the father of the bride, Gordon, praised Holly’s appearance and told Adam he was fortunate to be marrying her. He then referenced his wife, Tana, implying Adam could expect a similar future with her.
The article reported that Gordon made a hurtful comment to his daughter, Holly, about Adam’s parents not being present, saying, ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same.’
After the event, it came out that swimmer Adam’s mother was deeply upset and offended that Gordon had mentioned their long-running family conflict during his speech.
According to a family insider, the celebrity chef’s remark during the speech deeply upset her. They believe the comment was intentionally hurtful and pre-planned, describing it as cruel and very painful.
Gordon reiterated his comments from his recent appearance on This Morning, maintaining that his wedding speech was ‘perfect and heartfelt’.
He admitted it was really difficult. As a father of three daughters, he’d always imagined their special moments, and when they finally happened, he was completely overwhelmed with emotion.
The speech went really well – it was exactly what was needed. It’s important to connect with people, to be genuine and show emotion. It’s a challenging task, though.
Tilly, his daughter, revealed she’d heard the speech beforehand. She remembered being in his room on Christmas Eve, listening as he practiced it for about an hour.
‘Going through everything but no tweaks were needed, it was perfect. It made everybody cry.’
Even though Caroline was furious, Holly stood by her father’s speech, explaining that it had made her incredibly happy.
