Love Island and Traitors star makes movie debut in “charming” true story with Derry Girls favourite

Maura Higgins, known from Love Island, is starting her acting career with a fun, lighthearted comedy film. Called The Spin, it’s set in Omagh, Northern Ireland, and tells the story of two friends, Dermot and Elvis, who are trying to save their record store.

A couple struggling with rent and a demanding landlord, Sadie, find a potentially amazing deal: rare records by blues musician Robert Johnson, being sold cheaply in Cork. The synopsis hints that this deal might be too good to be true.

If they manage to reach the other side of Ireland on time, they might be able to find the rare record and rescue the shop.
