She was a wealthy, mysterious student who found herself at the center of a troubling small-town case, and became captivated by – and fell in love with – the attractive FBI agent investigating it.
The part made her a star in the 1990s, bringing Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and establishing her as one of television’s most fascinating performers.
Shortly after, she appeared in a nude photoshoot for Playboy magazine, where she was compared to the iconic actress Ava Gardner. This helped establish her as a glamorous, dark-haired beauty and a popular cultural icon.
Let me tell you, this actress wasn’t just a star on screen – her personal life was equally captivating! A three-year relationship with a major actor, someone she met while filming a fun comedy back in ’85, really boosted her career. And that wasn’t all – she also had a quick but exciting romance with one of the biggest pop stars around at the time. It was a whirlwind, but definitely added to her story!
Over the years, she’s successfully changed her career path, appearing in popular TV shows and soap operas. More recently, she’s become a lead actress in a critically acclaimed horror-comedy series.
It’s Sherilyn Fenn!
The 61-year-old actress was dressed comfortably while running errands in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Wearing a pink Jesus T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and bright pink clogs, she went to get her mail. Her hair was pulled back, and she wore large sunglasses to block out the strong California sun.
She stopped at a gas station to fill up her black and white Mini Cooper before driving on.
It’s been 36 years since David Lynch’s Twin Peaks first aired on ABC, and Sherilyn Fenn quickly became a fan favorite thanks to her captivating and mysterious portrayal of Audrey Horne.
Audrey Horne became a fan favorite thanks to her hopeless crush on FBI agent Dale Cooper (played by Kyle MacLachlan), her glamorous, vintage fashion, and a memorable scene where she skillfully tied a cherry stem with her mouth.
A nude photoshoot in the December 1990 issue of Playboy magazine made Fenn a prominent sex symbol throughout the 1990s.
The show lasted for two seasons before being unexpectedly cancelled in 1991, and during its run, David Fenn received award nominations.
Despite her success with the original series, she didn’t participate in the 1992 film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and also rejected proposals for a spin-off show focusing on her character.
Fenn didn’t return as Audrey until 2016, when the show finally aired its third season after a long wait.
Before becoming famous, Fenn had a short stint as a Playboy Bunny at age 19. She also gained early acting experience in several low-budget films from the 1980s, including the popular skateboarding movie Thrashin’ with Josh Brolin and the action-fantasy film The Wraith with Charlie Sheen.
She had a brief relationship with Prince in 1985, but later that year, while filming the student movie Dummies, she met Johnny Depp, who would become a significant love in her life.
They began dating and eventually got engaged, but later broke up. Johnny Depp then started a relationship with Jennifer Grey.
While they were together, Fenn’s career also took off, and he landed a memorable role on the popular show 21 Jump Street, which helped make him well-known.
I’ve been a longtime admirer of hers, and she’s always talked about Johnny Depp with such affection – she’s called him her ‘first love’ and even the ‘love of her life.’ I really appreciated how she stood by him and publicly supported him throughout that difficult and very public legal fight with Amber Heard. It showed a lot of loyalty, in my opinion.
After Heard initially accused Depp in 2016, Fenn shared a picture of herself with him, stating she didn’t believe he would commit the acts he was being accused of.
The same year Twin Peaks premiered, Fenn also had a role in David Lynch’s film Wild at Heart, which featured Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern.
Over the next ten years, she appeared in several films, including the 1992 movie version of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, which was directed by and featured Gary Sinise.
I’ve always been a big fan, and I especially loved seeing her in films like ‘Boxing Helena’ and ‘Fatal Instinct,’ both from 1993. And honestly, her performance in the TV movie ‘Liz: The Elizabeth Taylor Story’ from 1995 was just incredible – she really brought Liz to life!
Between 1998 and 2001, she starred in the sitcom Rude Awakening, playing a former soap opera star. She acted alongside Lynn Redgrave and Mario Van Peebles.
I’ve been a huge fan for years, and I always loved seeing her pop up on shows I enjoyed! She was fantastic on Friends – I’ll never forget her character, the one with the prosthetic leg who dated Joey and Chandler. But that wasn’t all! She also had memorable roles in Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek, Law & Order: SVU, Psych, and even Shameless. She really had a knack for making every appearance special.
From 2022 to 2023, she appeared in the horror-comedy series Shining Vale with Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, and Mira Sorvino.
Personally, Fenn has two sons: 30-year-old Myles, from her marriage to musician Toulouse Holliday, and 17-year-old Christian, from her relationship with Dylan Stewart.
