Adam Peaty’s mother, Caroline, publicly honored her husband Mark on their 34th wedding anniversary, despite their separation.
The parents are heartbroken after a falling out with their son led to them not being invited to his wedding to Holly Ramsay in December.
Gordon Ramsay told the Daily Mail that he and his wife, Tana, hadn’t done anything wrong and had always treated the Peaty family with great respect, despite recent reports. You can find the complete interview at this link.
Honestly, it’s been really upsetting to see this play out. The family has responded to the criticism, and they’re saying Gordon acted like a bully. They feel Caroline was completely disregarded and treated terribly by the Ramsay family, and they’re understandably hurt and speaking out about it.
Caroline shared photos with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. She wrote a sweet message saying ‘Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! We’ve been married for 34 years and together for 37. Thank you for always being my support and my strength. I love you forever.’
Friends say the family recently told them they no longer believe they can repair their relationship with their son, following a recent post he made on social media.
In a comment on Adam’s wedding video, the chef playfully called himself ‘dad,’ responding to the Olympian’s sweet message that he’d ‘always choose’ his wife, Holly.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing it’s been a really tough time for this family. They’re understandably heartbroken and are processing a lot right now, especially with Adam making it clear where his loyalties lie. It’s a deeply emotional situation, and they’re navigating it the best they can.
Any chance of them getting back together seems to be gone for now. Both sides are trying to deal with things privately and move forward. It’s obvious Adam has decided what he wants.
Gordon commented on Adam’s Instagram wedding video, writing: ‘Such lovely words, @adamramsaypeaty! Congratulations to you both – love you so much, Dad.’
A family argument unfortunately marred the couple’s wedding day. According to The Sun, the father of the bride, Gordon, praised Holly’s appearance and told Adam he was fortunate to be marrying her. He then referenced his wife, Tana, implying Adam could expect a similar future with her.
The article also reported that Gordon made a hurtful comment to his daughter, Holly, about Adam’s parents, saying, ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same [parents].’
You know, after the awards ceremony, I heard from sources close to swimmer Adam that his mother was really upset. Apparently, Gordon mentioned their difficult family history in his acceptance speech, and she was understandably outraged and hurt by it. It’s always tough when personal family matters become public, and it sounds like this really stung for her.
According to a family insider, the celebrity chef’s comment during the speech deeply upset her. They believe the remark was deliberately intended to be hurtful and described it as cruel and very painful.
Gordon reaffirmed his comments from last month’s appearance on This Morning, maintaining that his wedding speech was ‘perfect and heartfelt’.
Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot of life moments, being a dad to daughters is incredibly special, but that walk down the aisle? It’s a whirlwind! You picture it for years, and when it actually happens, honestly, you’re just a complete emotional wreck – in the best way possible, of course.
Honestly, the speech was incredible – it really hit the mark. What struck me most was how genuine and heartfelt it was. It’s a really challenging thing to pull off, being that vulnerable and connecting with everyone, but they absolutely nailed it.
Tilly, his daughter, revealed she’d heard the speech beforehand. She explained, ‘I believe it was Christmas Eve, and I spent about an hour in his room while he practiced reading it.’
‘Going through everything but no tweaks were needed, it was perfect. It made everybody cry.’
Even though Caroline was furious, Holly stood by her father’s speech, explaining that it had made her incredibly happy.
Holly told British Vogue about a happy moment during Gordon’s speech, sharing a picture of herself and Adam smiling and laughing together.
She described listening to her father’s speech, glancing around at the guests, and being deeply moved by the joy and affection she saw on everyone’s faces.
Holly recently shared that her parents covered the cost of her and Adam’s honeymoon in Mauritius, a lavish trip costing £6,000 per night. This comment appears to be another dig at her strained relationship with the Peaty family.
She posted several wedding photos with the fashion magazine, including a slightly uncomfortable picture of Holly and Adam with her parents and David and Victoria Beckham.
Since Adam’s parents couldn’t make it to the wedding, they posed for a photo with the groom, along with Gordon and Tana, and their daughter Holly.
During his speech, Adam focused on his swim coach, Mel Marshall, calling her his biggest influence and source of support, and didn’t mention his family or parents. He credited her with keeping him grounded and inspiring him.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how seemingly small slights can create lasting family rifts, and this situation is a perfect example. It all started back in September 2024 when Adam and Holly had their engagement party, but unfortunately, they didn’t include many members of Holly’s extended Peaty family. That decision, as it turns out, really stung and became the initial spark for a much larger conflict.
Despite driving her son to countless early morning practices for years, Caroline wasn’t included in Holly’s fancy hen party at Soho Farmhouse. The bride’s mother, Tana, and friends like Victoria, were all there, though.
