The biggest rumor surrounding the upcoming season of Married At First Sight (2026) has been confirmed, though many involved with the show already knew it was true.
After weeks of rumors and denials, the Daily Mail has learned that Brook Crompton is the bride who allegedly contacted her former partner while filming the reality show.
Footage obtained by Daily Mail shows Brook kissing her former boyfriend, Harry, while decorating a Christmas tree in October. This was just weeks after her recent off-screen split from her on-screen husband, Chris Nield.
The private video captures the couple being affectionate with each other – kissing and cuddling – while decorating for Christmas inside their apartment, surprisingly early in the year.
Those involved with the production weren’t surprised by the reveal; it largely confirmed what they had been expecting.
Multiple cast members told Daily Mail that Brook and Chris never stood a chance.
People close to the situation say Brook never saw Chris as more than a friend, and their connection never went beyond casual conversation.
One of the actors said there was no chemistry between them. It quickly became clear the relationship wasn’t going to develop.
The situation changed dramatically during Revelations Week when Brook saw Chris’s audition tape.
According to a source, she was really put off by his obvious attempts to get attention and his disrespectful behavior. After that experience, she emotionally withdrew from the situation.
After that, people close to the situation say Brook felt she had to continue appearing on the show due to pressure from the producers.
As the Daily Mail has reported, the current season of Married at First Sight (MAFS 2026) has been filled with cast members leaving the show, refusing to follow rules, and causing problems behind the scenes. Her refusal to attend only intensified speculation among fellow cast members.
Rumors started circulating in the Married at First Sight group chats that Harry had proposed to his partner while they were on a romantic getaway to Aspen.
Brook denied the engagement rumours at the time.
As the Daily Mail previously reported, sources predicted that unresolved issues from past relationships would cause problems for the cast of the 2026 show.
One source called the claim that a bride left the show to see her ex-partner “the worst thing she could have done,” framing it as a complete breach of trust within the experiment.
‘If it came out on camera, it would have blown the show wide open,’ the insider said.
