Katie Price’s children are the ‘reason she finally agreed’ to Peter Andre’s truce after months of rejecting his olive branch

Sources say the reason Katie Price and Peter Andre have finally decided to make peace has been revealed.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Katie and Peter – they actually did it! After all the drama, all the fighting we’ve been reading about, they’ve finally said they’re stopping! It’s like a weight lifted! They put out a statement saying they’re trying to make things peaceful and supportive for their kids, and honestly, it’s the best news ever. I’m just so relieved they’re putting their children first. It’s a miracle!

The couple got married in 2005, just over a year after they first met as contestants on the third season of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’

The couple later had two children, Junior, who is now 20, and Princess, 18. They unexpectedly separated and divorced in 2009.

According to friends, Katie finally agreed to reconcile with Peter because their children encouraged her to do so, after she had been unwilling for months.

For months, Pete’s team has been urging Katie to resolve this issue permanently. They started reaching out as early as November, contacting both Katie and her family in an attempt to end the dispute.

According to a source speaking to The Sun, she was determined not to reconcile with him. However, she realized she needed to set boundaries for the sake of their children, and Katie has now done so.

Daily Mail has contacted Peter and Katie’s representatives for comment. 

Katie, who recently married businessman Lee Andrews for the fourth time, and her ex-husband Peter have announced they’ve worked through their disagreements following their divorce.

This announcement represents the first time the former couple has communicated in 16 years. They stated they are now ready to put the past behind them and begin a new, respectful, and positive future.

They added: ‘We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children.

We’ve both agreed not to say anything bad about each other in the future, and this understanding is confirmed both legally and personally.

We’ve made this decision because we both prioritize our family and want to create a stable environment, especially for our children. We want to support them together.

We’re optimistic this marks the beginning of a good working relationship. We kindly request patience and support from the media and the public as we move forward.

Peter had previously stated that Junior and Princess lived with him to protect them, and he acknowledged it had been difficult for him to remain quiet about their private lives over the years.

In a 2025 Instagram post, he shared that he’d remained quiet for sixteen years despite constant false claims from his former wife and her family. He explained he did this to protect his children and other loved ones, but admitted the silence had been very difficult.

This stops now. Recent false statements about my children and their lives have forced me to clarify the facts.

In 2018, I took in Junior and Princess for their safety and due to circumstances that were already known, and I cared for them until they grew up.

He explained that a legally binding court order was put in place in 2019 to ensure this agreement was followed. He hadn’t shared this information previously, wanting to protect his children’s privacy.

Court records from 2011 and 2015 show my ex-wife made false statements, resulting in her being ordered to pay significant damages, legal fees, and to issue an apology to both me and my team. Unfortunately, these same false claims are resurfacing now.

I still need to respond to many false statements and unfounded claims. I’ll be addressing those over the next few months.

A representative for Kate Price said she’s feeling much more positive and at peace now that the issue is in the past. She doesn’t want to get drawn into back-and-forth arguments, and is letting her lawyers handle it. Price has made it clear she won’t tolerate being manipulated or bullied anymore.

In a 2025 interview on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, Price shared that the Australian singer ended their marriage because he mistakenly believed she was being unfaithful.

She explained that they split up because her partner wrongly believed she was having a relationship with her horse’s trainer. She insisted nothing happened between them – she simply kept her horse at his stables and was content to do so, especially since he was married.

When Pete and I broke up, he’d repeatedly said he was finished, constantly stating, “That’s it, I’ve had enough.”

I reached a breaking point and essentially told my partner I wanted a divorce. I remember that day vividly, because shortly after, I flew to the Maldives with my children.

I was at the airport that day, and it was all over Sky News. It wasn’t a mutual decision; I actually put out a statement saying I didn’t want to break up with Pete, but he was the one ending things.

‘Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.

Everything has been handled by lawyers. I’ve never had a direct conversation with him, and I think we could have resolved things if we’d been able to talk, but we were prevented from doing so.

Katie also stated that her ex-husband, famous for his 1996 hit song “Mysterious Girl,” had difficulty accepting that her career had become more successful than his, and she even claimed to have been the driving force behind his achievements.

During an interview on ‘Anything Goes with James English,’ she explained that whenever they worked together, she would insist on having separate contracts and always ensured she earned more money.

He seemed to be struggling with it too. I pointed out that he had just arrived in the jungle while I already had an established career.

It feels like ages since you had a hit song. You need to prove yourself again. I’m telling you the honest truth, regardless of what others think. I was the one who revived Pete’s career; I brought him back.

Before he went into the jungle, he wasn’t well-known, and that’s just a fact – I’m not trying to be mean by saying that. He had a single successful song about ten years ago, and it seems like he’s forgotten his roots.

In 2023, Katie’s mother Amy accused Andre of using her daughter to further his own career.

In her 2017 memoir, The Last Word, written after receiving a diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, the singer reflected on years of remaining silent while false stories circulated about her daughter. She explained that she’d been ‘forced to sit back’ and watch as lies were printed.

‘As I approached death, I thought it was high time I speak up and set the record straight.

My daughter isn’t perfect, but she was exploited by the media after getting involved with Peter Andre. He was focused on becoming wealthy and famous, and she unfortunately got caught up in his ambition.

Amy accused Peter of pursuing her daughter because his career was struggling and he saw it as a way to improve his prospects.

Honestly, from the very beginning with Peter, something just felt off. I couldn’t shake this feeling, like he wasn’t being truthful about who he was. It was a gut feeling, you know? I just knew there was something hidden beneath the surface, and it bothered me constantly!

The couple’s daughter, Princess, shared on her reality show, The Princess Diaries, how difficult her parents’ divorce was. She explained that she felt unable to have a relationship with her father after the split, because of the animosity between him and her mother.

After their divorce, Peter had two children with his current wife, Dr. Emily MacDonagh.

After that, Katie married three more times. These marriages were brief, including unions with cage fighter Alex Reid and former stripper Kieran Hayler, with whom she had two children.

She announced her marriage to Lee in January, marking their fourth wedding ceremony, which took place during a trip to Dubai.
