HoYoverse is preparing to launch Version 4.0 of Honkai: Star Rail, called “No Aha at Full Moon,” on February 13th, 2026. The update will include a lot of new content, such as two new 5-star characters, a free limited 5-star character, new outfits for Ruan Mei, quality-of-life improvements, and a new collaboration event.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0: New Map and Story Updates

The Astral Express is traveling to Planarcadia, a futuristic city with a strong cyberpunk aesthetic. This world revolves around entertainment and games, even using them to settle disputes. The majority of Planarcadia’s inhabitants pursue happiness and excitement, known as the path of Elation. It’s also Himeko’s former home, where she lived fifteen years ago, and we’ll be reunited with Silver Wolf and Blade.

New Playable Characters in HSR Version 4.0

Yao Guang

Yao Guang is a support character in Honkai: Star Rail who specializes in physical attacks and follows the Path of Elation. She’s built to be a key part of teams focused on the Elation strategy, particularly those that rely on complex skill rotations. Sparxie

Sparxie is a powerful damage-dealing character who uses Fire and follows the Path of Elation. She uses a lot of skill points to deal huge bursts of damage, and works especially well with Yao Guang. Free Limited 5-Star Skin

Once Version 4.0 is released and before Version 4.2 ends, you can log in to the game and choose one free 5-star character. Your options are Jing Yuan, Kafka, Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Jingliu, Acheron, or Aventurine.

A Flip Of Fortune

With the Version 4.0 update, you can now collect a daily fortune slip from Madam Yao, earning a guaranteed amount of Stellar Jade each day. Over time, you can earn up to 1600 Stellar Jade this way. There’s also a small chance to win a 100 Star Rail Pass.

Gift of Arcadia

During the update, The Gift of Arcadia event will reward players with 10 Star Rail Premium Passes, 3 Self-Modeling Resin, and 600 Lone Stardust just for logging in.

Free Outfit

In Version 4.0, players can log in to the game and receive Ruan Mei’s new outfit, “Plumblossom Letter,” at no cost.

Gift of Odyssey

Once Version 4.0 is released, you can log in for seven days to get a free 10 Star Rail Pass!

We will get some nice Quality of Life changes in Version 4.0. Here are those changes:

Returner Experience Optimization

  • Trailblaze mission early access.
  • Some stages of difficulty will be reduced.
  • Returner players can get a full golden rarity suitable relic set.
  • Bonus advanced trace materials.

Assignment System Optimization

Beginning with Version 4.0, you can collect rewards and send out Assignments whenever you want. We’ve removed the old time limits and character requirements.

Preview for Unactivated Relic Stats

Starting from Version 4.0, all Relics will display their unactivated stat affixes directly.

Lineup System Optimization

It will be much more convenient for players when using support characters from a friend.

Phonograph Optimization

From Version 4.0, The Phonograph in the car will also feature some new white noise tracks.

Honkai: Star Rail x Fortnite Collaboration

Last week, Epic Games hinted at a partnership between Honkai: Star Rail and Fortnite. The teaser image featured characters Kafka and Blade, and today, HoYoverse officially confirmed the collaboration during the Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 livestream, revealing when players can expect it to launch.

Starting February 26, 2026, characters Kafka and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail will be available in Fortnite for a limited time as part of a special collaboration. To take part, players need to participate in a top-up event within the Epic Games Store. Those who qualify will receive the Blade outfit as a free bonus in Fortnite. Keep an eye out for official announcements for more information.
