Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have broken up again, marking their third split – and it happened just over a month after they appeared to have reconciled.
The country singer, 32, recently attended the 2026 Grammys alone. Interestingly, just a few days before, she was seen spending time with the actor’s former girlfriend, Madelyn Cline.
Sources told TMZ in an article published on Friday that their romance had simply ‘run its course.’
Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans have broken up again, even after recently getting back together. The specific reason for this latest split isn’t clear yet.
On Monday, Madeline Cline posted a selfie with Sabrina Carpenter on Instagram, sparking conversation among fans, as Cline previously dated Chase Stokes from 2020 to 2021.
The photo showed them laughing together, with both of their faces mostly hidden as they stood close to each other.
Both Ballerini and Cline had their hair swept up into messy buns during the lighthearted moment.
The singer and the actor from Outer Banks were first rumored to be dating in late 2022. They were then seen together in January 2023 at a college football game in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.
Three months after they started dating, the couple first appeared together publicly on the red carpet at the CMT Awards.
In April of last year, Ballerini publicly shared details about their relationship in an interview with People magazine, describing Stokes as someone who brought a ‘new kind of love’ into their life.
For me, real love means a stable, genuine connection where we actively work on things together. Honestly, that’s what I find most attractive – being open to things like couples therapy and tackling challenges as a team.
The performer explained that truly supporting each other, both as a couple and as individuals, felt like a completely new experience of love for them.
In September, news broke that Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans had separated after three years of marriage.
According to a source who spoke with People magazine, the couple did everything they could to save their relationship, but ultimately decided to separate. This is a common situation, the source added.
The two stars briefly got back together, but they broke up again in November of last year.
But Ballerini and Stokes appeared to have reconciled shortly before the new year.
Both individuals posted about celebrating the New Year and shared what they hoped to achieve in 2026.
The actor from Outer Banks shared photos of himself with the singer on Instagram, along with a thoughtful message: he’s realized that life is short and we shouldn’t take beautiful moments for granted.

Ballerini shared on Instagram that it’s been a difficult year, both personally and publicly, feeling like events unfolded beyond her control.
Honestly, the only thing I want to say about my personal life from now on is that I truly believe in love.
She continued, ‘I truly believe in this, in him, and in doing things differently. Now, go show your loved one some affection and stop overthinking things!’
Ballerini made an appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles over the past weekend.
