Lily’s family vacation follows closely after she publicly celebrated her father Phil’s 75th birthday with a touching message.

On Saturday, she shared a current photo of the two of them on Instagram, along with an old picture of the musician carrying her when she was a little girl.

It just warmed my heart to see Lily recently share such a sweet moment with her dad! He retired in 2022, and she posted the most lovely message about how incredibly proud she is of everything he’s achieved. He’s now shared that he’s undergone five knee surgeries, requires around-the-clock nursing care, and his kidneys have failed due to years of heavy drinking.

But… he says, there is ‘life in the old dog yet’.

Phil recently shared that he’s been focusing on his health after facing several medical challenges over the past few years, and he’s happy with his recovery progress.

Talking to Zoe Ball on BBC Two’s ‘Eras – In Conversation’ to mark his birthday, he explained that managing his health is a continuous process. He relies on a full-time live-in nurse to ensure he takes his medication correctly.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues, especially with my knee. It felt like everything that could go wrong, did. I even got COVID while in the hospital, which caused my kidneys to fail, and it all happened at once.

I’ve had five surgeries on my knee, and thankfully, it’s now functional enough for me to walk, though I still need help from crutches.

Honestly, I think I’d really overdone it with the drinking, and it was starting to affect my kidneys. I always loved the break after a tour, getting off the road, because it meant I could finally do all the things I’d been missing out on while traveling.

He explained that he didn’t stay up all night drinking, but he did drink during the day, probably too much. He wasn’t usually drunk, though he stumbled a couple of times. Ultimately, it caught up with him, and he ended up spending several months in the hospital.

Phil’s romantic history has been complicated, having been married three times to Andrea Bertorelli, Jill Tavelman, and Orianne Cevey.

After their nine-year marriage ended in 2008, Phil reportedly paid Orianne a staggering £25 million. The couple briefly got back together in 2016, but ultimately separated again.
