Drew Barrymore and Valerie Bertinelli surprised fans with new gray hairstyles, created by the same stylist Kim Kardashian trusts.
A fun video posted to Drew Barrymore’s Instagram shows Barrymore, age 50, and Bertinelli, 65, asking hair stylist Chris Appleton to give them a glamorous, silver-toned hairstyle.
The video begins with the actresses sporting their normal hair colors, but with a quick touch from Appleton, their hair is instantly transformed into radiant, silvery styles.
With a playful, energetic soundtrack reminiscent of a classic rivalry, the video features Drew Barrymore and Nancy Bertinelli confidently showing off their new silver hairstyles as if they were on a fashion runway.
The on-screen text playfully declared, ‘Gray hair… challenge accepted!’ and it’s obvious these women are embracing their gray hair with confidence.
I have to say, I’m obsessed with their new look! I’m not sure if they actually dyed their hair gray or if it’s a wig, but honestly, it doesn’t even matter. They seem so happy with it – I loved seeing them laughing, hugging, and even Drew gave one of them a sweet kiss! They’re clearly loving the change, and it’s adorable.
Hair stylist Appleton is well-known on The Drew Barrymore Show, where he’s created amazing and noticeable hairstyles for both Drew Barrymore and Valerie Bertinelli.
As a stylist, I had so much fun revisiting a classic look with Drew Barrymore this June! We did a beautiful blonde makeover that instantly transported her back to some of her most iconic roles – she absolutely loved it, and it felt like a real trip down memory lane.
Looking at her reflection reminded her of the premiere of ‘Charlie’s Angels’ back in 2003. She said it felt like traveling back in time, explaining, ‘I feel like the same person I was then.’
Lynda Carter, known for previously accepting her natural gray hair, received a glamorous makeover from stylist Brad Goreski last November.
The Hot in Cleveland alum went for a vibrant blonde, and soon revealed it was a wig on Instagram.
She enjoys playing with fashion and trying out different looks with hair and makeup, but ultimately, she wants to feel like herself when she looks in the mirror.
Meanwhile, Drew has been refreshingly open about embracing her age.
Last December, she shared a video on Instagram without any makeup, openly showing her natural skin and any wrinkles.
She shared a close-up of her skin, writing that growing older is a good thing, not something to be afraid of.
It’s far from the first time Barrymore has shared her thoughts on getting older.
Earlier this year on her talk show, a fan asked her how she stays so comfortable in her own skin.
She confessed she hadn’t been involved in anything and hoped to continue avoiding trouble, but recognized that everyone makes their own choices and follows their own life path.
‘Do whatever works for you, and don’t judge others for doing things differently,’ she added.
The director of Whip It was open about her own self-doubt, playfully mentioning concerns about getting older, like a ‘turkey neck’.
She admitted she’s still learning to be kinder to herself, explaining that building self-confidence takes time and effort.
