Love Island: All Stars spoilers follow.
The latest episode of Love Island: All Stars featured the usual drama – arguments and tentative romantic connections set to slow, wedding-themed music. However, the biggest talking point for viewers wasn’t actually about the Islanders themselves.
This episode featured a performance by the British boyband Blue, who were popular between 2001 and 2004. They recently released a new album, Reflections, which reached number two on the charts last week, providing a welcome break from the show’s drama.

Many bands from the late 90s and early 2000s are finding new popularity with younger fans thanks to platforms like TikTok, but Blue doesn’t seem to be one of them, based on the crowd’s reaction tonight.
It seemed like both the viewers watching Love Island at home and the contestants on the show – who ranged in age from 22 to 33 – were unsure if they recognized the band Blue.
This naturally sparked some playful teasing between younger and older viewers – with those older at heart suggesting the younger generation didn’t understand true culture, especially when it came to shows like Love Island.

Love Island viewers are jokingly lamenting the show’s references to older boy bands. After some didn’t recognize Boyzone, confusion over the band Blue sparked a wave of comments, with one fan playfully claiming it’s a personal attack on those who grew up with those groups. Another viewer, aged 25, questioned whether they were too young or too old to be familiar with Blue.
One fan wrote on X, “Please stop showing these older performers—the songs are terrible!” Others on Instagram commented that the performance wouldn’t be appreciated by anyone under 30, and that people younger than 27 didn’t deserve to see it.
One viewer put it simply: “Blue being on Love Island doesn’t make any sense, but I’m totally enjoying it!”
Honestly, a lot of people seemed a little disappointed with the musical guest compared to Ne-Yo and Jason Derulo, who’ve performed before. And I gotta admit, I was also a bit confused – why are we getting a concert so early in the season? We haven’t even had a challenge yet! It feels a little backwards.

Most viewers found it amusing that the Islanders didn’t recognize the performers, and were either overly enthusiastic or simply shouted instead of singing along.
One viewer pointed out that the list was missing Boyzone, suggesting it was an oversight.
Love Island: All Stars airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
