We are off to see the Wizard once again — for the first time in decades, in fact.
MeTV will be airing the classic movie musical The Wizard of Oz this October, marking its return to free television after a 30-year absence. The Hollywood Reporter announced the deal, noting it hasn’t been shown on broadcast TV since CBS aired it on May 9, 1998. While The Wizard of Oz was once an annual broadcast tradition starting in 1956, renewed interest has created demand for a special broadcast event.
