Teddi Mellencamp reveals her dad John’s reaction to her Masked Singer performance

Teddi Mellencamp was extremely nervous while performing her father John Mellencamp’s hit song, “Jack & Diane,” on Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer, and was visibly shaking.

The 44-year-old celebrity, whose parents are also famous, made a point of sitting next to the 74-year-old Grammy-winning performer while watching her on the Fox singing show. She wanted to see the performer get playfully teased during the performance before being revealed as Calla Lily and eliminated from the competition.

‘I flew all the way here for it from Indiana,’ John claimed as Teddi laughed: ‘Lies!’

In 1982, John Mellencamp’s song “Jack & Diane” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed there for four weeks. This success kickstarted a four-decade music career for the artist, and eventually led to him founding the organization Farm Aid.

He told Us Weekly on Wednesday that his advice was to not overthink performing. He encouraged aspiring singers to simply enjoy themselves and sing the song naturally, as if they were just singing along.

My dad always told me to sing with confidence, not to worry about mistakes, and to just focus on giving it my best effort. That’s exactly what I was trying to do.

On the January 14th show, Teddi performed a cover of Rachel Platten’s song “Fight Song.” She chose the song as a tribute to her personal experience with stage IV cancer, and John said he really enjoyed it.

‘I’m probably even going to get emotional talking about it,’ the Two Ts in a Podcaster confessed.

It’s been nearly a year since my cancer surgeries, and it’s been a tough journey. I wanted to share what that’s been like, both the difficult parts and how you can still pursue your goals with hard work and determination.

On her podcast on October 3rd, Teddi shared that tests showed no signs of cancer in her body, although she will continue receiving immunotherapy treatments for another year.

The Bravo star’s main reason for appearing on The Masked Singer was her kids – it’s their favorite show! They quickly figured out it was actually their mom singing.

‘They were like, “Don’t even try to fool us. We know,”‘ Teddi recalled.

Pfizer executive Kate Hansen and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Edwin Arroyave, are prioritizing their three children – Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, who is almost six – along with Edwin’s daughter Bella, 17, from a previous relationship with Christina Mecklenburg.

Teddi and her husband, the CEO of Skyline Security, are still living together in their $6.5 million home in Encino while they put their divorce on hold because of Teddi’s health issues.

After reportedly having a months-long affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schröder (while his wife, Karli Postel, was pregnant), Arroyave’s 13-year marriage ended in divorce.

According to reports, Postel discovered text messages on Simon’s phone revealing the affair, and they admitted to it when she confronted them.

Teddi explained on The Jamie Kern Lima Show on August 5th that she hadn’t discussed the matter previously, wanting to protect her children.

I never wanted anyone to be certain about what happened, one way or the other. But I will admit that I’ve done things that caused pain to others.

The Real Housewives of Orange County guest star shared that she still feels hurt by the situation and has even wondered if it contributed to her cancer, believing it was a form of karmic retribution – that everything comes with a price.

Teddi shared something on Instagram, and her close friend Kyle Richards commented, saying she was incredibly impressed Teddi managed to achieve it while dealing with personal challenges, and that she was very proud.

Tamra Judge, co-host of the Two Ts In A Pod podcast, enthusiastically praised someone, saying, ‘You were amazing! I’m so proud of you, TWOT!’

Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori Spelling posted a flame emoji and commented: ‘Yasssss!’
