Pre-orders are available now through Hasbro and other retailers, and the toy will ship in a few months.

Transformers Fans Can Pre-Order New Studio Series Toy Through Target & Hasbro

As a huge Transformers fan, I was so excited to see a new version of Scourge! This Voyager Class figure is basically a refreshed release of the Scourge toy from the Studio Series line. It’s awesome timing too, coming out six years after the original and just in time for the 40th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie – that’s where Scourge first blew us all away! This figure is really faithful to his classic Generation 1 animation design, and he transforms into a super cool, futuristic Cybertronian hovercraft – a ‘Sweep-class’ vehicle, as fans know it.

The Scourge action figure can hold its included rifle in vehicle mode, and the rifle can also be used by the robot form, complete with an energy blast effect. This energy effect can also be attached to Scourge’s head in either mode. Standing 6.5 inches tall in robot mode, this detailed figure transforms in 19 steps and features excellent articulation. It’s available for pre-order now at Target or on the official website, though supplies will be limited on the website. Shipping is scheduled for early April 2026, a few months before the 40th anniversary of the character’s first appearance in the 1986 animated film.

Scourge was a Decepticon rebuilt by Unicron in The Transformers: The Movie from the broken parts of the Seeker jet, Thundercracker. Along with Cyclonus, he replaced the original Decepticon jets that had been led by the treacherous Starscream. Like Cyclonus, Scourge commanded a group of identical robots called the Sweeps, who all shared his appearance.

Following the movie, Scourge continued to appear as a key character in the Transformers series, even gaining the ability to combine with a partner as a Targetmaster. Since then, the name ‘Scourge’ has been used for several different characters with no connection to the original. These included a shadowy clone of Optimus Prime in Transformers: Robots in Disguise and a dragon-like Decepticon in Transformers: Cybertron. In later versions, Scourge was portrayed as a truck that looked a bit like Optimus Prime, serving as a messenger for the powerful Unicron, blending elements from his original appearance and the Robots in Disguise version.
