While fans await the return of Alan Ritchson in season four of Reacher, he’s starring in a new action-packed sci-fi movie on Netflix called War Machine. The movie, which features a threat even larger than anything he’s faced before, comes out next month, and a thrilling trailer has just been released.
Don’t mistake this War Machine for the other Netflix film with the same title (the one featuring Brad Pitt and Will Poulter). This War Machine stars Joe Manganiello as a combat engineer, identified only as 81, as he goes through the grueling final phase of US Army Ranger training.
The intensive training for the 81st team takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a terrifying, otherworldly robotic enemy – a massive killing machine reminiscent of the Predator films. Fortunately, with Jack Reacher fighting alongside them, their chances of survival are roughly even.

Patrick Hughes directed and co-wrote War Machine (with James Beaufort). The film features Joe Ritchson, along with Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber.
The movie War Machine will be available on Netflix starting Friday, March 6th, so be sure to remember that date!

To get even more excited about the movie, Ritchson mentioned in a Wired interview last year that he believes it will be Netflix’s biggest film yet.
He predicted the movie would be a huge success, calling it the best thing they’d ever created.
Even actor Dennis Quaid has expressed excitement about the upcoming film War Machine, stating in April 2025 that it will be “wild to watch.” He shared a fun experience from filming in Australia, saying he enjoyed playing the general and managed to stay clean while his co-star, Alan, was covered in mud. He praised Alan’s dedication, noting he was “really good” despite being up to his chest in mud.
War Machine is released on Netflix on Friday 6 March.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color 100-page tribute to Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
