Barry Manilow reveals he’s been forced to postpone his Las Vegas residency as he shares health update after undergoing surgery to remove cancer from his lung

Barry Manilow recently had surgery to remove lung cancer and has had to delay several shows from his Las Vegas residency while he recovers.

The 82-year-old singer of ‘Copacabana’ announced late last year that doctors had successfully removed a cancerous growth from his lung.

Barry recently posted on X saying he’s doing well after his surgery and has been back in the studio.

He announced that, following medical advice, he’s postponing his shows at the Westgate Las Vegas, originally scheduled for February 14th through 21st.

He shared an update saying he’s feeling good and recovering well after his surgery.

‘I’ve been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic.

On my doctor’s advice, I’m delaying my residency at Westgate Las Vegas, originally scheduled for February 12-21. This will allow me to concentrate on recovering and preparing for my tour, which begins later in February.

‘Having a few extra weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered.

‘Tickets for the postponed Vegas dates will be refunded.’

As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing some news about a beloved musician. He recently let his fans know back in December that doctors found a spot on his left lung that was determined to be cancerous. Thankfully, it’s something they’re addressing with surgery, and we’re all sending him positive vibes for a full recovery!

He noted at the time that he would not have to undergo chemo or radiation.

Oh my gosh, I was so worried when I heard! Apparently, Barry told everyone his doctor wanted him to get an MRI. He’d been battling bronchitis twice recently, and it just wouldn’t go away for weeks! It scared me so much, but thankfully he’s okay, and I’m just relieved he got it checked out.

Last month, I shared on Instagram that even after recovering from bronchitis and returning to performing at the Westgate Las Vegas, my doctor wanted to be extra careful and ordered an MRI to confirm I was fully healthy.

He added that it was ‘pure luck’ that the spot was discovered early.

Lung nodules, or spots on the lung, are frequently found and usually aren’t cancerous. However, the Mayo Clinic notes they should be checked by a doctor because they can sometimes be a sign of lung cancer, which is the most common cause of cancer death.

The star is a longtime smoker who has switched to vaping in recent years.

Barry Manilow revealed in a 2012 interview with the London Evening Standard that he started smoking when he was nine years old. Recently, photos published by the Daily Mail showed him vaping in Palm Springs.

Barry Manilow announced on Instagram on December 22nd that he’s taking time off to get better.

I’m sharing some difficult news: now that the Christmas Gift Of Love concerts are finished, I need to have surgery to remove a spot. The doctors don’t think it’s spread, and they’re running tests to be sure. Thankfully, I won’t need chemotherapy or radiation – just plenty of rest with some chicken soup and ‘I Love Lucy’!

The performer had planned to begin a US tour in January 2026, with scheduled stops in cities like Orlando, Tampa, Charleston, Greensboro, and Columbus.

Ugh, he just posted, and it’s… well, it’s not good. Apparently, he needs a whole month to recover, which means the January concerts… they’re postponed. Postponed! I was SO ready, I had everything planned, and he’s saying he’s sorry we have to change our plans? Like that makes it better! I’m devastated, but I guess his health comes first… still, a month?!

Barry Manilow announced he’ll be performing again in February, predicting it will be a festive event. He also wished everyone a happy Christmas and New Year, and reminded people to get tested if they experience any symptoms of illness.
