Overwatch Mizuki release date

The latest Overwatch Spotlight revealed Mizuki as the newest playable hero, launching on February 10th. Joining Mizuki are four other heroes: Domina, Emre, Anran, and Jetpack Cat. These five represent half of the ten new heroes planned for Overwatch in 2026, with the remaining heroes scheduled to be released throughout Seasons 2-6.

Who is Mizuki in Overwatch?

Okay, so Overwatch is adding another Japanese hero – Mizuki! She’s the fourth, following Kiriko, Hanzo, and Genji. From what I’ve seen of her design and weapons, it’s pretty clear she’s based on the kappa, which is a type of monster from Japanese folklore. I was reading a translation of the text on her hat by Xpsp, and apparently, the Japanese character for “kappa” is actually on her hat! So yeah, the kappa theme is definitely intentional and super cool.

Mizuki fights with a kusarigama, a traditional Japanese weapon. It wraps around their body and connects to a mechanical arm, enhancing their abilities.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced five new heroes, including Mizuki, Domina, and Emre, who are all connected to the character Talon. They’re excited for players to jump into the action with these new additions.

Interestingly, Mizuki is reminiscent of one of Kiriko’s Yokai members.
