Married At First Sight’s diva bride Gia Fleur goes ROGUE as she reveals she ‘went to war’ with co-star Bec Zacharia amid explosive feud: ‘We’re enemies and it gets worse’

Gia Fleur, a bride on Married At First Sight, expects this season of the show to be particularly dramatic.

She’s continuing to stand her ground in the ongoing conflict with fellow bride Bec Zacharia, which viewers have already witnessed developing.

Gia told the Daily Mail that the conflict between her and the other person is genuine, continues to escalate, and is becoming more intense as the show progresses.

‘We’re enemies,’ Gia said bluntly.

‘And that’s going to progressively get worse as the show goes on. We just don’t see eye to eye.’

People first noticed the tension between them during the bachelorette party, with uncomfortable moments quickly spreading online. However, Gia says the show didn’t even reveal the full extent of the conflict.

‘There were things said that made me react in a certain way,’ she explained.

‘It triggered me and made me put my defence up and go to war a bit.’

Okay, let’s talk about that whole ‘five out of ten’ thing with Bec. I want to clear things up – it absolutely wasn’t about how she looks! It really had nothing to do with physical appearance at all. It was about something completely different, and I wanted to make that clear.

‘That wasn’t about how she looks,’ she said.

It wasn’t what she said, but how she carried herself and looked at me – it felt like she was judging me.

She revealed the exchange took her back to being bullied in high school.

‘I didn’t defend myself when I was younger. I just took it,’ she said.

‘So when I felt judged again, I reacted. I protected myself.’

Gia insists the Bec viewers are seeing is not the same person she experienced behind the scenes.

‘Not at all,’ she said when asked if the edit matched reality.

Sometimes, behind the scenes, the person you saw on camera wasn’t the same as the real person. They presented two very different sides of themselves – one for the public, and another in private.

Although Gia and Bec are still not getting along, Gia did become close with some of the other brides, especially Brook Crompton, who quickly became her closest friend.

‘Brook was my favourite person from the hens straight away,’ she said.

‘I was obsessed with her. She’s gorgeous, funny – I loved her.’

She also grew close to Melissa Akbay, praising her kindness and warmth.

‘They were my girls,’ Gia said.

Gia’s wedding day delivered chaos, drama and, ultimately, romance.

Her peaceful morning quickly turned chaotic when her boisterous, champagne-drinking friends showed up, leaving her feeling stressed and in need of quiet.

‘I was nervous, I just wanted support,’ she said.

‘They came in hot, drunk and crazy. It was uncomfortable, but they eventually reined it in.’

Gia’s wedding plans took a turn for the worse when she found out the ceremony would be on the beach, and she’d be expected to wear fancy heels with a dress that had a high slit.

‘I was pissed off,’ she admitted.

‘I didn’t want my underwear out, but that happened.’

However, everything changed the moment she locked eyes with groom Scott McCristal.

‘When I saw Scott, everything went away,’ she said.

‘I felt comfortable. I felt calm. There was an instant connection.’

You could really feel the connection between them during the ceremony, it was beautiful! But behind all the smiles, I learned Gia was keeping something pretty big to herself – she’s actually a mom! She carried that secret all day, which must have been so tough.

‘I was terrified it would be a deal breaker,’ she said.

‘I thought it might be an ick for him.’

Oh my gosh, it was awful! Gia was finally going to tell Scott something huge, something she’d been building up to, but her own family member just blurted it out first! Can you believe it? And Scott… his reaction completely threw her. She had no idea he’d react that way. It was just… shocking, honestly. I’m still reeling just thinking about it!

‘He reassured me straight away,’ she said. ‘He handled it really well.’

After watching the episode, Gia shared that she was happy viewers were finally seeing a new side of her personality.

‘I was happy with last night’s episode,’ she said.

‘I feel like they showed me in a different light and people got to get to know me.’

She believes her wedding had it all.

‘We had drama, love, emotions,’ she said.

‘It was a pretty good wedding.’

As for the rest of the season, Gia promises fireworks.

‘A lot of fiery moments, a lot of drama, a lot of unhinged behaviour,’ she said.

‘But also vulnerability.’

She admits she’s already being positioned as a villain – but she’s making no apologies.

‘I’d rather be a villain than someone nobody remembers,’ she said. ‘At least I was authentic.’

And when it comes to the feud with Bec, Gia is clear – there’s no truce on the horizon.

‘People will see how it goes,’ she said. ‘But it’s not great.’
