Lauren Goodger is writing a book about the heartbreaking loss of her newborn daughter, Lorena.
The 38-year-old reality star gave birth to her second daughter in July 2022. Tragically, the baby died shortly after birth due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck.
Lauren wants to support other parents by openly sharing her challenging journey through grief and explaining how she managed to find the courage and strength to cope each day.
Lauren announced on Instagram that her autobiography, ‘Mum Of Two,’ will be available for purchase in July. She shared a photo of the book and expressed her excitement about its release.
As many of you know, my oldest daughter, Larose, means the world to me. She’s a bit of a show-off, and honestly, she gets that from me!
‘But my youngest, Lorena, is harder to picture. I never heard the sound of her laugh, or her cry.
I’m reaching out to Mum of Two because, after the heartbreaking loss of my newborn, I couldn’t find a book that offered the support I desperately needed.
‘This is my story of loss and grief, and of finding my courage and strength.’
Lauren shared that she’s been trying to stay strong for her four-year-old daughter, Larose, who means everything to her.
You know, even when I seem like I’m handling everything, it’s been incredibly tough. My daughter, Larose, means absolutely everything to me – she’s my whole world. I have to be strong for her, and that’s what keeps me going, even when it’s hard. It’s about putting on a brave face and carrying on, for her sake.
You know, life throws curveballs, and I’ve definitely had my share of struggles behind the scenes. But I’m a firm believer in resilience, and I’m still here, stronger for it. That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing what I’ve learned – I truly want to help others navigate their own challenges and find their inner strength.
You can now preorder it on Amazon! Thank you so much for all your support and love – it really keeps me motivated. Love, Lauren.
I’ve been reading the comments, and everyone is just amazing! So many people are calling Lauren the ‘strongest woman ever,’ and honestly, I couldn’t agree more. We’re all incredibly proud of her for being so brave and sharing what she’s been through. It’s truly inspiring to see.
Sophie Kasaei penned: ‘The strongest woman ever. So proud of you Lauren’.
Junaid Ahmed wrote: ‘YAYY!!!!!!!!!!! Soo so proud of you! Cannot wait to get’.
Saffron Lempriere shared a message of support, saying she was proud and had been looking forward to this moment. She acknowledged the challenges but praised the person for continuing to share their knowledge and bring joy to others.
‘Wow! what an amazing achievement xxxxxx’, said Ella Rae Wise.
Lauren became emotional and cried while talking to her friends – Junaid Ahmed, Saffron Lempriere, Amy Childs, Freddie Bently, and Livvy Jay – about the one-year anniversary of Lorena’s passing.
She shared with her colleagues that today was particularly difficult for her, explaining that she had lost her baby, Lorena, during childbirth three years ago.
‘She should be here and I think it’s harder because it’s Larose’s birthday in two weeks.’
‘Oh so you got a low and then a high again,’ Saffron said.
Lauren continued, her voice filled with emotion, explaining that this month is particularly difficult for her. She carries a lot of sadness because her daughter doesn’t have a sister, and she feels she should.
‘It’s so cruel,’ Freddie added.
Tearing up, Lauren said: ‘I don’t understand any of it.’
Amy replied: ‘But Lorena’s with you every day, Lauren do you know that? She’s with you like..’
Lauren said: ‘Yeah, and this is why I’ve sort of done this because it’s important.
I spent last year quietly grieving with Larose in the garden, but now I need to start talking about her openly instead of keeping my feelings hidden. It’s particularly difficult because I’m facing this process alone.
Junaid tried to reassure Lauren, saying, “You’re incredibly strong, and don’t forget you have all of us – your friends and family – here for you.”
With tears in her eyes, Lauren explained, ‘That’s why I did this, and it means so much to me that you’re all here.’
She went on to explain that she puts on a brave face, especially around Larose. She keeps her feelings hidden, and she wants to make sure people understand that.
Amy reassured Lauren that she could always count on her, saying, “You can call me anytime, even at 3 a.m., and I’ll always be there for you.”
