Rochelle Humes recently gave fans a look at the construction of her dream home, which has been two years in the making.
The 36-year-old influencer and entrepreneur shared an update on her home renovation project via Instagram on Tuesday, posting to her account, Home Humes, to show followers how things are progressing.
In June 2023, she shared that they had started a new project shortly after leaving their family home in north London, which was worth £3.3 million.
Now that the basic structure of the house was finished, the video showed her and her husband, Marvin, taking a walk around while workers continued installing windows, lights, and other features.
It also showed Rochelle in design meetings as she picked the finishing touches and paint colours.
The video gave a clear sense of just how large the house was, with its tall ceilings, extensive grounds, impressive entryway staircase, and attractive brick and window design.
I’m so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on! We’re building our dream home – a new house that will feel cozy and lived-in, like it’s always been there – and things are really starting to come together. I’m ready to start sharing the process with you all!
‘Over 2 years later, this is where the fun really begins…’.
The presenter toured the house late last year and shared that while it was still largely unfinished, rooms like the bathroom were beginning to come together.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always thrilled to see celebrities bring their vision to life! Recently, I learned the star collaborated with the incredibly talented Architectural designer Sal O’Connor to build the property she’s always dreamed of. It’s amazing how the right designer can truly make a house a home.
The celebrity shared that her house is expected to be finished around 2026, adding that all the windows will be installed within the next two weeks and significant progress will be visible in the new year.
Earlier this year, Rochelle showed followers that the house was still under major construction, sharing a photo of the ongoing work.
In 2023, the couple announced they were constructing their dream home after leaving their family house in north London, which was worth £3.3 million.
Rochelle announced the news on Instagram, saying it came as a complete surprise, but she was thrilled.
The TV presenter shared that the couple got a surprise offer on their home, which led them to find a piece of land in a place they’ve always dreamed of living.
Rochelle jokingly admitted it might seem a bit unconventional, but explained her family will be renting a place for the next two years, saying she and Marvin enjoy a free-spirited lifestyle.
She explained they were moving, and seemed shocked by the decision herself. ‘It’s a huge change,’ she said, ‘I’m moving in every way possible.’
We recently received an offer on our house, which was quite a surprise!
It came as a complete surprise, but we’ve found the perfect plot of land in an area we’ve always adored.
She shared that she and Marvin were building their own home and getting ideas from the TV show Grand Designs.
Rochelle continued: ‘So we’re going to build a house. I’ve never built a house before.
I’m really excited that we’ve rented a place for the next year and a half to two years – likely closer to two years. We’re planning to build our permanent home during that time.
We really enjoy moving to new places—it’s become a hobby for us! I’m not sure what exactly draws us to it, but we definitely have a wandering spirit and love starting fresh with each new adventure.
Rochelle stated that their new home is located close to their old one, adding that it’s still in the same neighborhood.
It’s good the children can continue at the same school. We’ve decided this is where we’ll stay long-term.
This is the first time we’ve done this, and I’m really thrilled about it. That’s the house taken care of. Plus, I’m also in the process of moving my office.
It’s been a whirlwind, but by the end of the week, we’ll finally get the keys and everything will be finished! We’re excited to start a new chapter.
