Adolescence writer gives definitive answer if there will be a second series of Stephen Graham show

Jack Thorne, one of the creators of the Netflix series Adolescence, has finally said whether or not the show will be back for another season.

During an appearance on tonight’s The One Show with Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne, Thorne announced that the show will not be continuing with the Miller family in a second season.

According to Thorne, who developed the show with Stephen Graham, they don’t currently have any plans for future installments, though they haven’t ruled out revisiting the format at some point down the line.

“Stephen said there might be something at the back of our brains somewhere, there isn’t anything.

I understand how my own mind works, and right now, I can see that Stephen’s doesn’t have a clear direction. But with a little more time, that might change.

Thorne added that he’s eager to collaborate with Stephen again, saying ‘Adolescence’ marks their sixth project together and he hopes it won’t be their last.

We really like making things in a single take, and we’d be open to doing another project like that. However, right now, we don’t have anything in development.

Last month at the Golden Globes, the series Adolescence was a big winner, receiving four awards. These included the prize for Best Limited Series, and Graham won Best Male Actor in a Limited Series for his performance.

After winning, Graham was questioned by Deadline about whether there might be more of the show Adolescence. He simply replied, “I cannot answer that question.”

The idea is buried deep in both Jack’s and my memories, and we expect to revisit it in three or four years, so keep an eye out for updates.

Graham will soon star in the dark thriller The Good Boy (released as Heel in the US). The first trailer was released last month, and the film will be in UK and Irish cinemas on March 20th.

In the film The Good Boy, Graham plays Chris, a man who kidnaps a rebellious 19-year-old named Tommy (Anson Boon) and holds him captive in his basement.

Chris and his wife, Kathryn, try to rehabilitate Tommy by manipulating him into realizing his mistakes, ultimately forcing him to either submit to their control or desperately try to break free.

Adolescence is streaming now on Netflix.
