Bradley Cooper and Matthew McConaughey hilariously clash over wild conspiracy theories in Super Bowl ad

As a lifestyle expert, I’m loving the buzz around this new Super Bowl ad! It’s fantastic to see Bradley Cooper and Matthew McConaughey teaming up again – and it looks like they’re playfully clashing, which makes it even more entertaining. It’s already creating a lot of excitement!

After more than fifteen years, the two friends are back together on screen, and this time their conversation quickly turns chaotic, covering everything from food and football to bizarre conspiracy theories.

The Uber Eats commercial, ‘Hungry for the Truth,’ portrays Matthew McConaughey as someone who believes all of sports are actually designed to get people in America to order food.

Cooper, a diehard Seahawks fan, pushes back hard –  until the theories start sounding plausible.

McConaughey playfully points out that when a quarterback runs with the ball, it’s called a scramble. He then adds, with enthusiasm, that even a field goal post is shaped like a fork – it’s a quirky observation!

And just when it can’t get more absurd, a White Lotus fan-favorite swoops in to pick a side.

The unexpected cameo comes from Parker Posey, who plays a character very similar to her role as Victoria Ratliff in The White Lotus.

The actress fully commits to the playful scenario, supporting McConaughey and enthusiastically joining in with his wild, food-related ideas.

‘Did you tell him about pancake blocks?’ Posey asks in Victoria Ratliff’s signature droll delivery.

‘Several times,’ McConaughey deadpans.

As the commercial continues, things get more and more frantic. Cooper keeps pleading with McConaughey to stop talking about the idea – saying “you can’t keep doing this” – but it has no impact at all.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve noticed Matthew McConaughey really leans into this fun theme, quickly connecting one surprising food-and-football moment after another throughout the ad. He just keeps the energy and connections coming, building a really playful vibe!

‘Players names: C.J. Ham, Malik Ham,’ he argues, while Cooper snaps back, ‘You’re cherrypicking.’

McConaughey continued playfully teasing his co-star, repeatedly mentioning names similar to ‘Don Cherry’ and seemingly enjoying the other actor’s growing frustration.

The actor from Dallas Buyers Club doesn’t stop at just in-person harassment; he also relentlessly bothers Cooper on the phone.

‘It’s all food, Bradley!’ he insists, fully committed to the bit.

Everything finally explodes at what looks like a Super Bowl party, and Cooper makes a final effort to stop the conflict.

Ugh, he just doesn’t get it! I mean, seriously, trying to tell me football is about the food? It’s about everything! But okay, okay… I guess I’m so desperate to get him to understand, I just want this argument to end. I practically begged him, ‘Look, can we just drop it? Let’s just forget we even talked about this!’ It’s killing me that he’s so clueless.

‘Beef’s food… so’s squash,’ McConaughey replies coolly, sending Cooper spiralling yet again. ‘

The director, clearly frustrated when the advertisement interrupted his viewing, exclaimed a curse word – playfully edited to say ‘burgers’ instead.

The ad’s celebrity appeal doesn’t end with Cooper, McConaughey, and Parker – Uber Eats is also letting fans create their own versions of the commercial.

Users can create their own Super Bowl commercial and even include appearances from celebrities like Addison Rae, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Tramell Tillman, Sauce Gardner, Jerry Rice, and Pork Chop Womack. It’s being called the ‘first-ever’ commercial of its kind.

Cooper described reuniting with McConaughey for a new project as surprisingly easy, despite not having worked together for almost twenty years since their roles as competing love interests in ‘Failure to Launch’.

I remember when I first noticed them together! It was in the movie Failure to Launch back in 2006. What a fun rom-com, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Zooey Deschanel too! That’s where it all started for me, seeing their chemistry on screen.

Cooper shared with Rolling Stone that it was a pleasure working with Matthew. They spent downtime between filming laughing and reconnecting.

It had been a while since we last worked together, but I was thrilled to reconnect with such a wonderful actor. He was always fantastic to work with.

Cooper is a dedicated, lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and often incorporates his love for the team into his projects, famously including a nod to the Eagles in his 2012 Oscar-nominated film, Silver Linings Playbook.

Despite the Eagles losing in the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers, Cooper stayed positive about the team’s overall season.

He described the Eagles’ season as tough but ultimately successful. While not always flawless, they were consistently competitive and never gave up.

I have to say, Cooper’s being a true diplomat this Super Bowl! He told me he doesn’t have a team he’s rooting for this year, just hoping we all get a really great game. It’s nice to see someone focused on the sport itself, honestly!
