Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter are going to be parents! The couple, who secretly got married last year, recently announced they’re expecting their first child.
Eric, Eddie’s 36-year-old son, and Jasmin, Martin’s 30-year-old daughter, tied the knot in May 2025 after dating for four years. They kept the wedding a secret.
Eric announced they were expecting a baby on Monday evening with a series of polished photos shared on Instagram.
Jasmin was glowing as she showed off her growing baby bump, with Eric seen caressing her.
‘Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift ❤️❤️❤️,’ the post was captioned.
Eddie and Martin, who starred together in ‘Life,’ joked about their future grandchildren way back in 2024, when their children first started dating.
The actor, starring in the new Beverly Hills Cop movie on Netflix, joked that people keep asking what the baby will be like when it grows up.
He continued, ‘Our gene pool is gonna make this funny baby.’
Eddie emphasized that he hoped any future child of theirs would have a good sense of humor, saying, ‘I fully expect their child to be funny.’
It was Eddie who announced Eric and Jasmin’s secret wedding last year.
The actor revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that they had gotten married just two weeks prior.
The comedian explained that the couple eloped and got married in a small, private ceremony at the church, with only the preacher present. They’re now planning a larger celebration with friends and family.
This arrangement saves Eddie and Martin a significant amount of money. Eddie jokingly pointed out that Martin wouldn’t have to cover the costs of a large wedding, after previously suggesting he would.
Eric and Jasmin got engaged in late November 2024.
The love birds shared a video of the proposal to both of their Instagram accounts late last year.

In the video, Eric surprised Jasmin by leading her into a room decorated with white rose petals and arrangements of pink and white roses.
The room glowed with candlelight, and a large red heart decorated the wall. Eric knelt and proposed to Jasmin, and she happily accepted.
In 2024, Eddie opened up about how he feels about his son dating Martin’s daughter.
Jasmin and Eric began dating in the summer of 2021, and she publicly revealed their relationship on Instagram with a post celebrating Eric’s birthday.
We don’t know how they met, but it’s safe to say they’ve been friends for a while.
Their fathers have been friends for years and worked together on the movies Boomerang and Life.
‘They’re both beautiful, they look amazing together,’ the Coming To America star said last year.
