The hidden signs Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor were on the rocks: From ditching her wedding ring to emotional social media posts about ‘a new chapter in life’ – as the Made In Chelsea couple split after seven years of marriage

Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor announced their separation on Monday after being married for seven years.

Originally meeting when they were just teenagers, the pair first dated during E4’s Made In Chelsea.

Let’s talk relationships! Back in 2013, I tied the knot with the wonderful Professor Green, but sadly, we went our separate ways in 2016. Interestingly, that same year, things started heating up again with Hugo, someone I’d known before.

They got married in 2018 and then had two daughters: Sienna, born in 2020, and Aurelia, born in 2021.

In recent months, though, hints began to emerge that their relationship was facing difficulties.

Okay, so Millie just dropped a bunch of stuff on Instagram and I’m losing it! She’s been posting all these really empowering things about self-love and setting boundaries, and… well, she’s not wearing her wedding ring anymore! It’s like, a major signal, right? I’ve been screenshotting everything and analyzing it – she’s clearly focusing on herself right now, and honestly? Good for her! I’m totally obsessed with figuring out what this all means.

The celebrity also traveled to India last week for a personal wellness retreat focused on restoring and calming the nervous system.

At the beginning of the year Millie hopped on the ‘What are you leaving behind in 2025?’ trend.

She shared photos and wrote about letting go of draining relationships and the need to constantly justify her personal limits.

She also included some puzzling phrases in her message, revealing feelings of distrusting her instincts, feeling guilty for prioritizing her own needs, and being controlled by fear.

She concluded that 2026 would be the year of ‘calm, clarity and self-trust’.

She celebrated the new year with a message to her followers, expressing excitement about supporting herself and focusing on her own well-being.

She wrote a long message wishing everyone a Happy New Year and sharing her hopes for 2026:

I’m prioritizing the health of my nervous system – it’s incredibly important. I’m learning to say ‘no’ more often and ‘yes’ with more consideration. And I’m focusing on steady, sustainable habits rather than pushing myself too hard.

I’m focusing on strengthening my relationship with my audience, trusting my own instincts, and prioritizing my physical well-being by listening to what my body needs.

Focusing on the now, rather than constantly chasing goals. Choosing thoughtful responses instead of impulsive reactions. And simply being present, instead of getting caught up in worries about things beyond my influence.

‘*Being my own cheerleader.’

Millie announced a fresh start in January, declaring she was done trying to please others and was instead focusing on herself. She described it as a powerful shift, saying she was ‘shredding’ the weight of other people’s expectations instead of ‘shrinking’ to fit them.

Millie joined the popular 2016 social media trend of looking back at favorite moments, sharing highlights from her career like her Women’s Health photoshoot, a Glastonbury advertisement, and a trip to Cape Town.

She didn’t mention that she and Hugo got back together in 2016, after her divorce from Professor Green.

Okay, so things seem to be changing between Millie and Hugo. I’ve noticed he’s pulled back on interacting with her online – no more enthusiastic comments on her Instagram, and he hasn’t been featured on her social media since that family photo around Christmas. It definitely suggests a shift in their dynamic, and less public display of affection, which is often a sign things aren’t quite the same.

He seems to have stepped away from social media, with his last post being on Christmas Day. Before that, he had been sharing a lot of family photos in November.

Millie spent last week in India at an Ayurveda retreat focused on nervous system recovery, while Hugo was enjoying a ski trip.

While on vacation, the TV personality was seen without her wedding ring and posted messages hinting at a fresh start.

You know, I really thought I was just coming here for a fresh start, a little time to recharge. Honestly, I didn’t anticipate how deeply I needed to feel things, to really connect with my emotions. It ended up being much more than a reset – it completely opened me up in ways I hadn’t expected.

She explained that silence is surprisingly powerful. When all the noise stops, you’re left facing your own thoughts and feelings.

Millie was seen relaxing in a pool, wearing a green bikini and being gently supported by a therapist.

She described the rituals as deeply centering, involving soothing warm oils, water-based therapies, and a sense of both physical and emotional support.

Oh my gosh, she posted the most amazing thing on Sunday! It was a quote, and it said, ‘You don’t always have to know what comes next in your journey.’ Seriously, it just gets me, you know? It’s like she’s speaking directly to my soul! It’s so profound and…her. I’ve been replaying it in my head all day.

It’s okay to simply be present and accept where you are right now. There’s a real beauty in self-acceptance, especially in this very moment.

Whatever your goals are, remember that enjoying today is just as important as working towards the future.

She also posted a quote on her Instagram story that read: ‘The moon told me, dear girl, it’s time to embrace your strength.’

On Monday, the Daily Mail reported that the Made In Chelsea couple has split up after a challenging beginning to the year.

People familiar with the situation say the couple is dedicated to raising their young children together and creating a supportive family environment, and their children remain their main focus.

I’m hearing some sad news today – Millie and Hugo have decided to separate. It seems they’ve come to the difficult decision to go their separate ways, and it’s a really tough time for both of them.

After knowing each other for a long time, they recently had some difficult talks about their future and have decided to separate.

Their children and family are the most important thing to them, and they never wanted to separate.

Honestly, it’s really tough, but they’re currently figuring out what life would be like if they lived separately. They’re also trying to plan how they’ll raise their little ones together, even if they’re not a couple anymore. It’s all about making sure the kids are okay and have what they need.

The beginning of the year has been very challenging, and they’re hoping to deal with things privately going forward.

The Daily Mail has contacted Millie and Hugo’s representatives for comment.
