James Gunn’s Justice League Looks Perfect as Adria Arjona Joins David Corenswet & Aaron Pierre on Stunning New Fan Poster

Fans are already imagining the lineup for the new Justice League in the DC Universe (DCU), inspired by a well-liked fan-made poster. While DC Studios co-head James Gunn is still early in the casting process – with some heroes appearing in the 2025 film Superman – fans are eager to share their ideal team, which will be a fresh start after the previous big-screen Justice League led by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.

The Justice League of America (JLA) is DC Comics’ version of the Avengers, bringing together its most popular superheroes into one team. The lineup has varied, but it usually includes iconic heroes like Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman, with other heroes like Hawkman, Green Arrow, and Black Canary occasionally joining the group.

A fan-created poster is getting a lot of attention on X for its impressive take on the DC Universe’s Justice League. Created by @RoyalMaj3sty, the poster brings together Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl. It includes actors who have already been officially cast in DCU roles, as well as some popular choices fans have suggested.

The new poster prominently features David Corenswet as Superman. Corenswet, known for his role in Pearl, was among the first actors cast in the new DC Universe. He stars in the 2025 Superman movie and its sequel, Man of Tomorrow. Though his character initially prefers to work alone, Corenswet’s Superman will likely be a key leader when the Justice League eventually forms.

The new poster features David Corenswet as Superman alongside Hawkgirl, played by Isabela Merced. Merced first appeared as the winged hero in the 2025 film Superman and is currently part of the Justice Gang. Traditionally, Hawkman and Hawkgirl have often switched roles within the Justice League, but because Merced’s character is already established in the new DC Universe, she’s expected to be a key member of the team.

The DC Universe’s cast is nearly complete with the addition of Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern. There are multiple Green Lantern options for the Justice League – including Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner, Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan, and Pierre’s John Stewart – all of whom will appear after the premiere of ‘Lanterns’ on HBO later this year. However, artwork currently shows Pierre as the Justice League’s Green Lantern, sporting a green costume that closely resembles the comic book version.

Fans are eagerly awaiting news about who will play Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe, a role previously held by Gal Gadot. DC Studios is making Wonder Woman a key character, and they’ve already begun developing a dedicated movie for the iconic Amazonian Princess.

Adria Arjona, known for her role in Star Wars: Andor, is a leading contender to play Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) in the upcoming DC Universe. The artist designing the new Justice League lineup has specifically chosen her for the role in their artwork.

The DC Universe still needs a Batman, as Robert Pattinson’s version from The Batman movies won’t be joining the main DCU. Those films will continue as separate stories in their own universe, called Elseworlds.

The role of Batman in the new DC Universe is still open, and a lot of actors could potentially play the Dark Knight. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who’s known for his roles in shows like The Haunting of Hill House and Wilderness, is a popular choice. This fan-made image shows him looking great as Batman, and he seems like a good match to star alongside David Corenswet as Superman.

2023’s The Flash, featuring Ezra Miller, was one of the last films in the previous DC Universe. As the DC Universe gets a fresh start, a new actor will play The Flash, and Glenn Powell (known for his roles in The Running Man and Top Gun: Maverick) has been chosen for the part. Powell is a great fit because he’s proven he can handle action and has a naturally likable personality, both qualities that suit The Flash’s playful and heroic character.

Completing the fan-dream team for the DC Universe’s Justice League is Martian Manhunter – a detective from Mars with the ability to change his shape. While there’s growing evidence he’ll soon appear in the DCU, no official announcements about casting or projects featuring him have been made. However, many fans believe Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for playing Karl Mordo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Doctor Strange, would be a perfect fit, based on recent fan artwork.

Together, these seven heroes form the heart of the Justice League and offer a fresh, thrilling take on the iconic team for the new DC Universe.

When Will A DCU Justice League Film Happen?

It seems likely we’ll eventually see a Justice League movie in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, but the big question is when it will be released.

The Justice League first appeared together on screen in 2017, just four years after the first DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film, Man of Steel (2013). At that point, it was the fifth movie in the series, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), and Wonder Woman (2017). The team included Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as the Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

DC Studios is planning a big crossover film, but James Gunn and Peter Safran are taking a measured approach to building their shared universe. In 2026, moviegoers can expect Supergirl and Clayface, while the TV schedule includes Lanterns. Currently, the only other confirmed project is Man of Tomorrow, which will focus on introducing both new heroes and villains to the DC Universe.

DC Studios still has some work to do to properly introduce heroes like Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Martian Manhunter with their own stories. Because of this, a Justice League movie is likely several years off, but it could ultimately wrap up the first phase of the DC Universe – currently known as ‘Gods and Monsters’.
