One of the most frequent complaints concerns how the story developed for Daphne, the eldest Bridgerton sister. She was initially presented as the main character in Season 1, as the first sibling to find a spouse.
After the first season, Daphne’s role in the story became much smaller. Each season of Bridgerton centers on a different Bridgerton sibling, but Daphne is unique – she’s the only sibling who’s been largely absent from the show after her own love story concluded.
Daphne hasn’t appeared in the show since Season 2, and there are no plans for her to return, even though her brothers and sisters continue to be featured. Now, Season 4 is making viewers wonder if this pattern of missing characters is continuing, as another Bridgerton sibling is absent this season.
Daphne And Anthony Are Both Missing From Season 4, Part 1
Okay, let’s talk about Season 4, Part 1. Honestly, Daphne’s continued absence barely registered with most of us at this point – it’s become the norm. But what really got people talking was the missing Sharma siblings, Anthony and Kate. Their lack of presence felt much more significant, and definitely sparked a lot of discussion amongst viewers like myself.
Anthony’s story unfolded in the second season, and his relationship with Kate has become a fan favorite. Both Kate and Anthony are incredibly popular characters, and even with Colin Bridgerton taking center stage in season three, this couple remained a highlight for many viewers.
Disappointingly for viewers who loved them, Anthony and Kate weren’t featured in the first part of Season 4, leading many to question whether Anthony, the eldest brother, would be in the new season at all.
Anthony And Kate Will Be In Part 2
While some viewers were disappointed Anthony wasn’t in the first part of Season 4, both he and Kate will be back for the second part. This is confirmed by the fact that actors Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley are listed in the official cast details on Netflix’s Tudum website.
The latest trailer for Season 4, Part 2 also showed Anthony and Kate with their baby, which is great news for fans! Unlike Daphne, they’ll be back for more of the season and are expected to have a significant storyline.
As a big fan of the series, I’m really invested in Benedict’s storyline! It’s clear he’s struggling with his feelings for Sophie, the maid, and he probably needs Anthony’s advice more than ever, especially since Sophie won’t accept anything less than a real relationship. Honestly, I’m hoping the show doesn’t sideline the other Bridgerton siblings as the seasons go on – we need to see more of everyone!
