Ahsoka Season 2 Villain Gets Confirmed By Star

Recent interviews have revealed that a key villain from the first season of Ahsoka will be back for Season 2. The show, starring Rosario Dawson, introduced several enemies for Ahsoka Tano to face, with Grand Admiral Thrawn as the primary threat. Other villains included Morgan Elsbeth (who first appeared in The Mandalorian), the Great Mothers, Marrok, and the dark Jedi Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. Although Marrok and Morgan Elsbeth likely won’t return, another villain has been confirmed to reappear in the upcoming season on Disney+.

Jane Seymour, the actress who plays Lakesis, has confirmed on her website that her character will be in multiple episodes of Ahsoka Season 2. This is based on the fact that she worked with several different directors during filming.

Earlier in 2025, I was thrilled to return as Great Mother Lakesis for the second season of ‘STAR WARS: Ahsoka’. Filming took place at Pinewood and Longcross Studios in England, and it was a wonderful opportunity to explore the character of Lakesis in greater depth. I originally created the role for the first season and knew there was a lot more to her story.

Seymour shared more details about how she played the character of Lakesis, explaining that her research helped her create a complete and complex personality, and really delve into what motivated Lakesis and what she was trying to achieve in Season 2.

After extensive research into the world of STAR WARS and the Night Sisters, I created a complex character deeply rooted in their history and possessing powerful dark magical abilities. The second season allowed me to collaborate with directors from around the world and delve further into Lakesis’ motivations and goals. This was all thanks to Dave Filoni, the showrunner and writer for season two.

Okay, so Lakesis… she’s a fascinating character. As far as I can tell, she’s one of the powerful Nightsister leaders hailing from the planet Peridea, and she’s playing a key role in turning Grand Admiral Thrawn into an even bigger villain than we already knew him to be. She’s essentially his guide, helping him level up to become a truly formidable threat. It’s a really intriguing dynamic, and I’m eager to see how it unfolds.

Although the first season of Ahsoka didn’t fully explore their backstory, recent statements from creator Dave Filoni hint that upcoming episodes will feature the Great Mothers more prominently, possibly shedding light on their origins and connection to the history of Dathomir.

Lakesis and the other Great Mothers possess powerful abilities, such as using dark magic to revive Thrawn’s night trooper army and knowing ancient secrets that could be crucial in his conflict with the New Republic.

The second season of Ahsoka is currently planned for release in 2026 and will feature the return of its main actors, including Rosario Dawson, Ivanna Sakhno, Lars Mikkelsen, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Hayden Christensen, and Eman Esfandi.

Which Other Star Wars Villains Will Appear in Ahsoka Season 2?

In addition to the already announced appearance of Lakesis and other Nightsister Great Mothers, several other major villains are planned for Season 2 of the Ahsoka series.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is a major threat, determined to regain control of the galaxy after being stranded in Peridea for years. Now that he and his forces have escaped Peridea – and left Ahsoka and Sabine stranded there – he’s more powerful than ever, and his plan to restore the Empire seems within reach thanks to the resources he commands.

Meanwhile, Baylan Skoll (who will be played by Rory McCann following the death of original actor Ray Stevenson) will have his own agenda by seeking the truth behind the massive status of the Mortis gods in Peridea. It is unknown if he is still allied with Thrawn, but there’s a chance that he could still embrace the Dark Side of the Force, which could spell trouble for Ahsoka and Sabine.

I’m really excited to see Shin Hati back. Last season, we saw her master, Baylan Skoll, essentially give her free rein to choose her own destiny, and I think that’s a huge opportunity for her character. There were hints that she wasn’t fully committed to the dark side, and it’ll be interesting to watch Sabine and Ahsoka try to guide her towards using her powers for good. They really need to help her see just how much potential she has to stand against Baylan.

Aktopraw will join Lakesis as a powerful Great Mother in Season 2. Considering the Nightsisters’ important role in the upcoming season, as previously announced by Seymour, Aktopraw is likely to be a crucial ally who helps Thrawn carry out his plan to conquer the galaxy.
