Taylor Swift makes surprise appearance at Grammys 2026 afterparty after skipping the awards ceremony

Taylor Swift was spotted attending a Grammys afterparty, after skipping the main show.

The singer, 36, mingled with guests at a bash on Sunday night, in a clip shared via X on Monday. 

The celebrity, recently involved in a legal dispute with Blake Lively and whose private messages calling director Justin Baldoni a derogatory name were made public, was seen enjoying a drink and talking with friends.

She looked stylish in a black top and her signature red lipstick. She completed the look with gold necklaces and wore her blonde hair straight and loose.

Daily Mail has reached out to Swift’s representatives for comment, but has not heard back.

Taylor Swift wasn’t up for any awards this year because her newest album, The Life of a Showgirl, came out too late to be considered for the 2026 awards.

One fan wrote, ‘I missed her.’

One fan also believed they saw Taylor Swift’s brother in the video, commenting, “That’s Austin Swift next to Taylor!”

It’s unclear whose party Swift was attending.  

Fans were excited about the possibility of seeing the star at the show, especially since many of her friends, like Sabrina Carpenter, Haim, and Lady Gaga, were there and nominated for awards.

Taylor Swift was up for Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammys with her album, The Tortured Poets Department, but Beyoncé won the award.

Her song ‘Fortnight’ was also nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Taylor Swift was also up for Best Pop Vocal Album, but Sabrina Carpenter ultimately won the award with her album, ‘Short n’ Sweet’.

Finally, she and Gracie Abrams were up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, but Gaga and Bruno Mars won the award.

Swift has a total of 14 Grammys.

In 2010, Taylor Swift won four Grammy Awards for her album Fearless, including the top prize, Album of the Year, and Best Country Album. She also won awards for ‘White Horse’ as Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance.

A few days before the Grammys, the show’s executive producer, Ben Winston, directly responded to and debunked rumors about whether the superstar would attend this year’s ceremony.

Reports suggest Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are hitting a rough patch in their relationship as they begin planning their wedding – it seems this is their first major challenge as a couple.

Following a report by HITS Daily Double suggesting she would perform, he confirmed the situation in a January 22nd interview with the same outlet.

He explained that the speculation about Taylor performing or appearing started because the HITS List published a story about it this week, and that story was then shared worldwide.

HITS completely fabricated that story. It’s frustrating to now have to address it with you, especially since it originated in your own office! It’s ironic that a rumor created there is now being questioned here.

This announcement follows Swift’s recent suggestion that her new album would be released soon.

Taylor Swift is currently planning her wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who proposed to her with flowers in August.
