Before the official nominations are announced, the Golden Raspberry Awards – or Razzies, as they’re often called – have released their picks. And, true to form, they weren’t shy about naming the worst in film.
The Academy Awards, or Oscars, celebrate the best movies and filmmaking of the year. In contrast, the Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, highlight the worst. Just before the Oscar nominations are announced on January 22nd, the Razzies announced that Disney’s expensive and poorly received film, Snow White, is a contender for their ‘worst film’ award.
The new Disney movie, starring Rachel Zegler as the princess, didn’t perform well at the box office. Despite costing a massive $269 million to make, it only earned $205.6 million, resulting in significant financial losses for Disney.
But Snow White wasn’t the only movie considered a failure. Despite receiving six nominations, Disney’s live-action film shared that distinction with Amazon’s War of the Worlds.

The screenplay for The Electric State was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and it’s based on the illustrated novel by Simon Stalenhag.

The upcoming film Snow White (2025) features a screenplay by Erin Cressida Wilson and several other writers. It’s based on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
The screenplay for Star Trek: Section 31 was written by Craig Sweeny, based on an original story idea from Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt.
The 2025 film War of the Worlds features a screenplay by Kenny Golde and Marc Hyman, based on the famous novel by H.G. Wells – though the adaptation takes significant liberties with the original story.
The 46th annual Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies), which honor the worst films of the year, will be announced on March 14th, just before the Oscars ceremony on March 15th.
