Laguna Beach stars are all having babies! Two decades after their wild teen years played out on the MTV show Stephen Colletti reveals his wife his pregnant days after Lo Bosworth announced birth of her daughter

Twenty years ago, the stars of Laguna Beach were known for dramatic love lives and energetic high school parties, all while balancing jobs at the local surf shop.

Twenty years after the popular MTV show that pioneered ‘scripted reality’ TV ended, its stars are starting families. In the last week alone, two of the original cast members have announced they’re expecting babies.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m losing it! Stephen CollettiStephen Colletti – just announced on Instagram that he and Alex are having a baby! A baby! I’ve been following him forever, and this is the best news ever. I seriously can’t even breathe right now. A little mini-Colletti is coming! I’m so happy for them both!

Stephen, now 39, was at the center of a complicated love story during the first two seasons of Laguna Beach, constantly caught between Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad, both also 39.

Kristin Cavallari, who shares three children – Camden Jack (13), Jaxon Wyatt (11), and Saylor James (9) – with her ex-husband, former NFL player Jay Cutler, was one of many LG stars to congratulate Stephen on his new baby.

Her lifestyle brand’s Instagram handle Uncommon James commented: ‘So happy for you both.’

Lauren meanwhile gushed: ‘Yaaaaaaay!!! This is so exciting!!!

Lauren, known for starring in and later producing the TV shows Laguna Beach and The Hills, is a mother of two sons. She and her husband, William Tell, share Liam, age eight, and Charlie, age six.

Lauren Bosworth, 39, also sent her congratulations, commenting ‘Omg!!!! Congrats’ with three red heart emojis.

Lo welcomed her little girl with her husband, Dom Natale, an athlete-turned-investor last week.

She announced she was pregnant shortly after her wedding in July. Last Thursday, she shared the wonderful news on Instagram that her baby girl had arrived, and revealed they named her after her own mother.

Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot of families grow, there’s nothing quite like a little surprise! Our daughter, Nelle, arrived a couple of weeks earlier than expected, but honestly, it felt perfectly timed. She just came when she was ready, and we couldn’t be happier!

Jason Wahler, 39, a father of three, was surprised to hear his friend Stephen’s announcement, excitedly responding with, ‘Wait, what?! Congratulations!’

Alex Murrel, 38, a fellow cast member from Laguna Beach and mother to five-year-old Levi, simply wrote “congrats!!!” with three red heart emojis.

MTV cameras followed the then high school seniors around for their hit reality show from 2004-2005.

Millions of viewers were captivated by the complicated relationship between Kristin, Lauren, and Stephen, quickly dividing into supporters of either Kristin and Conrad or Lauren and Stephen.

The series ran for three seasons and ended in 2006. Lauren became well-known for her role in the spin-off show, The Hills, but Kristin took over her role starting with the fifth season.

Kristin and Lauren recently resolved their differences while filming a Laguna Beach reunion. Kristin even posted a picture with the caption, ‘Looks like everyone can stop picking sides now!’

She recently shared on her podcast that she had a great time filming the reunion for Laguna Beach, just after returning from Laguna.

Seeing you here feels like things are getting better – it’s wonderful to have you back on the podcast, and I’m so glad Lauren and I are still friends.

Lauren admitted she wasn’t sure about attending the reunion at first, but now she’s very glad she did. She described the experience as helpful and emotionally beneficial.

Fans can look forward to a reunion special later this year, celebrating 20 years since the show ended.

A two-hour special, currently called “Roku Presents: The Laguna Beach Reunion,” will bring back the original stars of the show, like Lauren, Stephen, and Kristin.

Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Shuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, and Alex Hooser are all returning as well.

When I originally presented the show idea to my managers at MTV, I honestly didn’t expect we’d end up with such a genuine and close-knit group of friends,” explained Liz Gateley, the show’s creator.

Series creator Liz Gateley explained that the show had a profound impact not just on her and the cast, but also on a whole generation of fans who had eagerly anticipated its release.
