I was honestly shocked when North West, Kim Kardashian’s daughter, unexpectedly asked her mom’s Instagram followers for money during a recent live stream. It really caught Kim off guard, you could tell! It was a pretty wild moment to witness, and I’m still talking about it!
The 45-year-old reality star had a conversation with her 12-year-old daughter, but remained off-camera. A short clip of the chat quickly became popular online.
North seemed upset, as she had hoped her mother would join the livestream to receive gifts from viewers.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Kardashian’s representative for comment.
Kim Kardashian, rumored to be secretly dating Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, hid her face from cameras. Instead, she playfully waved her hand from behind her daughter, North, to acknowledge her presence.
‘You should just show your face, because . . . I don’t know,’ North said in exasperation.
“I want some money!” she exclaimed, stretching out the word ‘money’ and grinning. The grin showed off the dark metal grill she had covering her teeth.
‘What?!’ a shocked Kim shot back. ‘No, we don’t ask — no, no, no.’
‘OK!’ North replied in apparent exasperation.
After scolding her eldest daughter—who she shares with her ex-husband, Kanye West—Kim changed her tone and asked, ‘Can you explain what you mean?’
North started to say, “Because, TikTok Live—” but Kim quickly interrupted, pointing out, “This is Instagram, not TikTok Live.”
The All’s Fair star said gently, ‘You were a little shaken up for a moment,’ as North replied, ‘I know, I know.’
Then, Kim admitted, ‘I thought you were asking me for something,’ before letting out a laugh.
It’s easy to see why North might have been mixed up about whether she was on Instagram or TikTok – the two apps have become very similar in how they work and look over time.
TikTok, recently approved for a sale to an American buyer with ties to Donald Trump after concerns about its Chinese ownership, lets people watching live videos send virtual gifts to their favorite creators. These gifts then contribute to the creators’ income.
It’s hard to say exactly how much money Kim Kardashian revealing her face could have earned the TikTok account she shares with her daughter, North.
North, who uses TikTok under the username @kimandnorth (with an adult managing the account, according to her bio), has a huge following – over 20.7 million on TikTok and around 1.8 million on Instagram.
The video of the celebrity’s daughter quickly became popular online, only a few days after she unexpectedly joined her father, Kanye, on stage.
The pair surprised the audience with an impromptu performance of his 2024 hit, “Only One,” at the Monumental Plaza de Toros La Mexico.
North recently performed alongside her father shortly after he published a public apology in the Wall Street Journal for his past antisemitic statements.
The 48-year-old rapper attributed his past actions to his bipolar disorder, explaining that he struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis during periods of intense mania.
Kanye West, along with his apology to the Black community, explained that a car accident 25 years ago damaged the right frontal lobe of his brain. This injury went undetected and wasn’t treated, he said.
According to West, the unchecked damage eventually led to his bipolar type-1 diagnosis.
He explained that when he was experiencing mania, he didn’t recognize he was sick and reacted badly when people he cared about tried to offer support.
Being labeled “crazy” can make people feel like their contributions aren’t valued, and it’s often dismissed as something not serious, despite being a potentially life-threatening condition, according to Kanye West. Research from the World Health Organization and Cambridge University shows that people with bipolar disorder tend to live 10 to 15 years less than the general population and are 2 to 3 times more likely to die from any cause.
He explained that the condition is as serious as life-threatening illnesses like heart disease, type-1 diabetes, HIV, and cancer, and can be fatal without treatment.
West acknowledged he’d become disconnected from reality and explained that he was drawn to what he considered the most harmful symbol – the swastika.
He explained that his bipolar disorder worsened, leading to a four-month period of mania in 2025. This was followed by very difficult times where he felt like he didn’t want to live.
I’ve been working with a client recently who really turned things around. He hit a tough spot, but with a dedicated plan – including the right medication, therapy, getting active, and prioritizing a healthy lifestyle – he’s found a solid new normal. He describes it as discovering a fresh center and a stable foundation, and it’s been amazing to witness.
