The NikeSKIMS Air Rift Satin is releasing in Obsidian, Night Silver/Base Grey-Medium Silver colorways on July 30th. It will be available at Nike and SKIMS retailers with a retail price of $160 USD. The product codes (SKUs) are IQ7158-002 and IQ7158-400.
The NikeSKIMS Rift Satin updates Nike’s unique Air Rift shoe with a stylish new look. Part of the Studio Edit 02 collection, it features satin-like panels in two colors – Obsidian and Night Silver – giving the split-toe design a smoother, more refined feel created in collaboration with Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand. The shoe maintains its original low shape but offers a sleeker appearance.
This update focuses on the shoe’s materials and appearance, not its overall shape. The Rift now features smooth, satin-like fabric for a more refined look while maintaining its signature low profile. It still has the unique split-toe design and includes an adjustable strap across the middle of the foot—a tribute to the original’s tightening system. The sole remains flexible and allows natural foot movement, just like the first version.
The SKIMS collection offers different styles. The “Obsidian” colorway is dark and sophisticated, while the “Night Silver” version uses various shades of silver – like Night Silver, Base Grey, and Medium Silver – for a nearly monochrome look that’s on trend with current silver shoe popularity. Both designs highlight the satin material and keep branding subtle, emphasizing the unique shape of the shoes.
The Nike Air Rift is instantly recognizable for its unique shape. First released in 1996, it combined the split-toe design of traditional Japanese tabi shoes with the natural running style of Kenyan athletes, creating a lightweight, almost barefoot feel that was unlike any other shoe at the time. Its bold and unusual look has made it popular whenever minimalist and early 2000s fashion trends come back, and its recent collaboration with SKIMS fits perfectly with this ongoing cycle.
